Isn’t he more of an attacking midfielder? (similar to Brownhill in our set up). I’ve only ever seen him play there.
Moreno is their main striker.
Dunno anything about him, however with those numbers I assumed he'd be a winger or number 10 maybe.
Just going by the description the BBC gave and they describe him as a forward who can play across the front three.

Just on Lyle Foster. Assuming the deal is agreed and terns done in the last few days, visas/work permits can apparently take up to 3 weeks for non EU nationals. I've read up a little bit on this and what can speed things up is if the player plays as a full international for a nation ranked in the top 50 and/or if the domestic league he plays in is one of the top 5 ranked in Europe. However, South Africa is ranked 58th currently by FIFA and the Jupiler League 8th in UEFA, so that may slow down the application process and affect when Foster can be announced by the club. Thats how I've read it anyway. Someone on here may be able to give more accurate info, but it may well mean we don't announce the signing this week.

Would we not need to complete all that before the Window closes ?

According to the Premier League site: "A club need to have applied for a permit prior to the window closing" so we should be all good.

I think the money football clubs will throw at these hearings will speed things up.

Nieuwsblad is a classic tabloid, so I’d be putting more credence on Sacha’s figures, but it is what it is. VK obviously a huge fan.

Belgian press reporting deal is completed (up to 11 M Euros).
Expect it to be unveiled today or tomorrow

I wonder if we're still in for a defensive midfielder before the window shuts? You would think we had alternative targets lined up after the Bosnian lad.

Instead of 'Guess the Gate' we should have a 'Guess the fee'.

Besiktas now no longer in the running, apparently. But then other sources are saying a €3.7M fee and loan player to Konyaspor has been agreed. Who knows.

I think if we can get the Foster deal over the line it'll do us until the summer. Unless we have someone lined up now the Bosnian fella isn't coming. But if not, we have enough cover.

Maybe the Bosnian's 'lack of interest' in us is pure paper talk.

As the closing of the window approaches, some of our targets may come into our price range,as clubs and players get desperate

To me unless it’s a cm they really really want them we should wait till the summer, bastien all be it in like spells has looked more than capable and then with likes of Johan, Twine and Tella as options behind a number 9, brownhill can play deeper if need be. Corks only out for one more game

As VK recently said all the signings are for the future (ie premier league) because he doesn’t want too much to do in the summer.
He added that he doesn’t need the players for this season (obviously) because the squad is doing very well as it is.
So this window is not about panic and for this season , it’s about seeing if we can can get value and quality now , if not I bit more to do in the summer.
It’s quite a challenge VK has got , just built a team to do well in the championship and now quicker than he expected he has to transition it to a team ready for the premier league. Which I would imagine is going to lead to some players who have contributed a lot to where we are now getting displaced.

We need to be proactive in every window.
Buying youngsters for the future, only works IF they make the grade. Too many haven't. We need to buy players ready to fit into a starting slot, and yes it will mean that players who have done well for us, will need to move on to make space. It will also prevent us falling into the trap of letting the squad age spiral. Exciting times to be sure.

I see no problem with picking up younger players and having them on loan, on the continent as well as UK and letting them bi in the shop window for sales in the future to bring in more revenue. Players on loan would also be available for recall if they are performing well above expectations, I think it's part of the business model that should/will/is being adopted, however obviously take time to build up these types of players, ensuring we have a competitive first team squad.
Regarding Foster, it all depends when they did the work permit application as to when he will be available.
J Spence, I hope he's not coming and don't really expect him to, expect he will go to an EPL team.

Hard to see anyone else coming in. Arguably could do with another option in midfield, particularly with next season in mind, but we’ve got a lot of depth to the squad in most positions.
That only changes if players leave.

Unless a last min bargain pops up, I think that’ll be that - I think we’re pretty much set for now tbh. More than enough to clear the last few hurdles to promotion. (As long as nobody major leaves obv)
