Top 3 Christmas movies
It's that time of the year again when Crimbo movies are everywhere, so my top 3 are as follows.
1) Elf- Will Ferrell classic from 2003 which never gets old.
2) Home Alone- a brilliant tour de force by Macauley Culkin, and though I've viewed it countless times it always delivers.
3) Scrooged- Bill Murray takes on the famous role and he dominates the screen throughout in this modern take on Dickens most well known creation.
Anyone got any personal favourites they wish to reveal, and as it's Christmas you can choose more than 3 if you desire.

For some reason I love watching all my favourites from when I was a kid, even now. Honourable mentions to Scrooged, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and Deck The Halls.

Not movies, but I love the ghost stories that the BBC puts on over Christmas, especially the M. R. James stuff.

1. Miracle on 34th Street
2. Miracle on 34th Street (the other version)
3. Since it's Christmas and the rules are relaxed, I'm having a stage musical. Pickwick, with Harry Secombe in the title role. (I would have liked to see Roy Castle in the role of Sam Weller, junior or senior, but he had died before the version I saw.)

Re: Top 3 Christmas movies
Maybe it’s ahead because it was his choice and not yours ?
Just throwing it out there as a wild guess !!
No 1 : Elf (watching it right now !)
No 2 : Christmas Vacation
No 3 : Scrooged (Bill Murray version)
Re: Top 3 Christmas movies
Perhaps - but then perhaps he's seen one but not the "original". It has been sidelined a bit as it doesn't tick many woke boxes.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:00 amMaybe it’s ahead because it was his choice and not yours ?

Anyhow, I've not seen "the bishop's wife" (recommended above) so I'll try and find that this Christmas.

Re: Top 3 Christmas movies
A Christmas carol. A wonderful story, one of the best ever told and Alastair Simm was tremendous as Scrooge.
Escape to victory. Nuff said.
Home alone. Like Blackadder, even tho i KNOW what’s coming, I’m laughing in anticipation.
