Half empty stadium and even more strange is a ref from a country who are already in the semi-final

I hope Portugal win. I hate the whistling from the Moroccan fans. Unsporting and sounds bloody awful. Had to turn the volume down to be able to watch it.

I agree it’s most annoying, what are they aiming to achieve by doing it?

The English name Morocco is an anglicisation of the Spanish name for the country, Marruecos. That Spanish name was also the basis for the old Tuscan word for the country, Morrocco, from which the modern Italian word for the country, Marocco, is derived.

Been reported that there have been issues outside the stadium with ticketless fans being denied entry and blocking the entrances.

Decent opening 25 minutes from Morocco who don't look overawed and carry a threat at set plays.

Morocco 2 Iberia 0 would suit me. I hate Portuguese football. Cheats from first to last. Great players it’s just in their DNA.

Portugal rattled here and they need to start playing and stop the amateur dramatics.

Morocco just about deserve their HT lead on balance.

Portugal are a horrible, cheating side, led by their sulking, baby of a captain. Come on Morocco.

On paper France are England’s toughest test of the remaining teams. But all the teams left in the tournament are there on merit and will give any of the others a tough game on their day. That said, I do agree that Portugal would perhaps be a bigger test.

I think there’s too many people who disregard some of the historically lesser football nations though - this Morocco side have drawn against Croatia, beaten Belgium and knocked out Spain. People use this as a stick to best Southgate with when in reality, most teams who make the knockout rounds of major tournaments are pretty good.

Similar to Argentina. If we don't win it I hope Croatia do.

Morocco the best “team” in the QF. I would not take either us or France as a gimme in the SF against them. They play with a spirit and defend like dervishes. The only goal they’ve conceded was an own goal.

A lot of snobbery on here. Sean Dyche proved what a bunch of players playing as a team can do. Right now Morocco feel like a team built on the doggedness of Dyche mixed with the flair of VK

Strange from Santos that he doesn’t play him. Surely has to be on by now. Portugal have next to zero 1v1 threat in the final third.

Maoc also the French name for the country as I recall. Of it was a French colony.
