Possibly personal reasons, such as a mental health issue, judging from the terminology.

Why is Man Utd such a graveyard for fantastic players? Sancho, Di Maria, Veron, depay just off the top of my head

Going downhill quicker than Deli Alli at this rate

Re: Jadon Sancho
Ten Haags words were "in the right fitness state". I think the warning signs were there very early with Sancho and his actual commitment to playing at the top level. From watching podcasts of people in and around that club it is mentioned on several occasions his lack of putting in the extra yards needed to really make himself a top top player.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 10:49 pmPossibly personal reasons, such as a mental health issue, judging from the terminology.
He is nowhere near the England team because Southgate bombed him out after several instances of bad timekeeping.
Then there is the well known issues with his bad eating habits and all the fast food he eats, refusing to see and conform with the dietician at Utd
Ten haag has basically sent him away on a boot camp style break. It's the only way he can get him back into shape as when there as soon as he leaves the training ground they have no control of him. This way a few weeks away being beasted will at least get some lbs off
Personally I think he will be filed in the "had it all but threw it away through lack of effort".

Re: Jadon Sancho
Big pressure for Sancho, he cost £73 million when he was 21 years old, he's an Ex City player and United finished sixth last year on his first full season. Anything less than Champions league is a failure at the theatre of dweems.

Di Maria was a flop because his house was broken into and his mrs wanted away - hence the reason he was only there a short timeRed Fox Rocks Socks wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 10:50 pmWhy is Man Utd such a graveyard for fantastic players? Sancho, Di Maria, Veron, depay just off the top of my head

Re: Jadon Sancho
Look what they did to Ronaldo. One day he's the best player in the world, next thing you know they've booted him out and he can't even make the Portugal first 11.
It takes a John Connelly sort of character to be a success and win the league at Old Trafford.

Re: Jadon Sancho
Sadly. It is an example of a young talent with potential.
Mostly, that potential falls by the wayside, owing to external factors and personal failings. Mostly the latter.
That is why just about all Southgate early selections, from his U21 time, eventually fell by the wayside.
U21 is a place of potential. Experience and maturity builds footballers, mostly with less talent, but with true determination to succeed.

Another over hyped player who was never worth what Manure paid for him.I fear Bellingham is in that category .
Re: Jadon Sancho
I don't think he was the world's best player when he arrived the second time
You could argue they made him into the best the first time around though, when he did win trophies

Wasn’t aware of any of this, shame but it’s also hard to blame the player if that’s the way he feels about football. It’s just a shame for the fans, I’m sure he can retire very wealthy already

Sancho has never looked anywhere near Bellingham from what I’ve seen.
Re: Jadon Sancho
I'd agree with that, but then I thought the same about Dele Alli!

Re: Jadon Sancho
Media picks often start to believe the hype about themselves. Bellingham has a very long way to go before he becomes a top player .Often young players are inconsistent in performances as shown v France
Mason Mount looked like a world beater last season Sterling is not a kid anymore but he lacks consistency
Often young player fall away after England U21 appearance
Delle's fall has been spectacular, still under 30 his career looks to be finished.

Re: Jadon Sancho
What in holy hell are Man Utd doing to their super talents , they ruined Ronaldo, Sancho , they wrecked Depay too and hardly ever got a tune out of Pogba ( post Jose) They must have spent a billion .
Ten Haag appears to be trying to change he culture , though OGS appeared to be getting there his inexperience as a mega club manager was painful to see at times .

All we know is what Ten Haag has said
There appears to be (not exactly a surprise) an awful lot of stuff added to that without any real evidence to back it up

Pogba was lazy, that's why Ferguson was happy to let him go and didn't want him back.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 11:26 amWhat in holy hell are Man Utd doing to their super talents , they ruined Ronaldo, Sancho , they wrecked Depay too and hardly ever got a tune out of Pogba ( post Jose) They must have spent a billion .

Ronaldo - his ego has ruined him, the inability to realise he's no longer in his 20's and the world doesn't revolve around him.
Depay - maybe too young and/or just not as good as the clause in his contract about winning a Balon d'Or thought he would be....
Sancho - we don't know what's up, maybe being back in the Manchester area has distracted him, because in Germany he was focused and even the Germans don't understand why he's dropped so much in form.

Re: Jadon Sancho
Sancho was excellent for Borussia Dortmund as is Bellingham. Will Bellingham also suffer a loss in form if he returns to an English club ?

As happens with many young men who find themselves multimillionaires, famous with time on their hands, all of a sudden they’re knee deep in puussey, luxury motors, endless temptations and the unsavoury hangers on that come with the territory . Let’s hope whatever it is , he gets himself sorted .

Think the Bundesliga is real hit and miss - success there doesn’t guarantee anything.
Rouwen Hennings bagged 22 goals in 61 games for Düsseldorf - one season 15 in 32!

This is by far the most likely scenario given the weather in Manchester.

Re: Jadon Sancho
Probably drizzle too.
Re: Jadon Sancho
This doesn't necessarily relate to Sancho directly but I've often thought it a bit strange how rare it is for "top" players to leave the game early. I mean, it's an amazing life of course and it's a short career even if you play until your late thirties. But as with anything being a pro footballer must get tedious in parts and once you've made a huge amount of millions, the temptation to ease off and pack it in entirely, travel the world etc, must be massive. I think that's what makes the absolute best so impressive, Messi and Ronaldo have just kept going and going and going with this enormous stamina for success.

Re: Jadon Sancho
Probably helped him being in Germany and while it was all unfamiliar, he only had football to focus on. Back in Manchester now, and possibly the same old distractions he'd have had at City previously.
John Stones' form plummeted for a while when he moved over from a quiet part of South Yorkshire to the bright lights and temptations of Manchester. Now he's matured a bit, he's sorted himself out but it can't be easy for a young man. I could be quite the knobhead at that age just on a normal wage.

Re: Jadon Sancho
Typical for the glory boys and how they run this dysfunction so called football club. Spend £billions on players of which then are transformed into something that are not deemed good enough. Meanwhile the fans moan and even riot on the streets about under investment because they are not winning everything like they think they should be.
