Depends who's in goal I guess.

If Muric is upto his usual fun and games against PL team, there won't be any coming back from his "little foibles"

I’ve seen contrasting reports on who’s available for selection for the Utd team so no idea. If they make lots of changes then we definitely have a chance

It’ll be our largest away following for quite a few years I think? Should play a big part.

Certainly think there’s a chance. They’ll either be making lots of changes or using players just back from the World Cup who won’t have trained together much. If we can get at them early on, they could be vulnerable.

Have to hope the restart and smaller crowd unsettles United, but I can’t see it to be honest. I think we’ll struggle playing our more open system against their pace and take a beating (that’s assuming VK doesnt have a system change in mind).

One to enjoy, with 7k there roaring us on. Hope we keep backing the lads if we go behind. Pick up no injuries and I’ll be happy!

Originally it looked like a weak United side but reports now that they’ll have a very strong side available.

It’s a very very tough ask.

We have a good record at OT. Plus we carry the hopes of thousands of City fans who are backing us. Paid a visit to Blue Moon a couple of days ago and they fancy us to do them over. We have quite a big fan base now as City fans ‘second team’. Many of them want us to get promoted to see how we stand up to them now, plus they want to see VK on the touch line. When we play there next season (as we surely will) I think VK will get the best reception a visiting manager could ever get.

Got a feeling we will play really well tonight.

If we take it to pens (draw in 90 mins I think?) that would be superb.

United have slipped up to lower league opposition regularly in recent years, so we certainly have a chance, it'll be tough if they field anything close to their first XI.

What I'm hoping for regardless of result is a decent performance, and at least a goal for the visiting fans to enjoy,

With hopefully promotion on the way, this is a chance to see just how good we are against top opposition
Of course it depends on the starting teams of both sides
Pace and strength of our guys will be tested tonight

Not too bothered about the result but it will be a very good test of where we are at the moment. More looking forward to seeing how we fare against good opposition

under Dyche we all wanted a good cup run and I always felt we should have been a good cup team, but under Kompany we aren't too concerned about the result because we know we will at least try to take it to them and not sit behind the ball, so it will be enjoyable.

I expect this will be quite a big game for United as their only opportunity for a competitive game before the PL starts again.

Under normal circumstances, with them probably making a lot of changes for a LC game, I'd fancy our chances but I'm not so sure tonight.

Having said that, they have thrown one or two in this season, particularly early on so you never know.

It will be good to see how this side gets on against a Premier league team.
This is probably the most excited I've been for a cup game in years

Just hope our younger players aren't overawed by playing on such a big stage and play the game not the occasion. To be honest I don't think they will. THB will be relishing it hope he doesn't pick up a card being too keen. Kompany won't need any encouragement!

As long as we give a good account of ourselves and get no major injuries
I'll be fine with whatever the result is.
And we come away from the game proud to be Clarets.
Having said that a 3-1 win would be great!

Heard Dubravka, Wan Bissaka and Martial start for United. Sorry if that’s common knowledge, been out all day.

Full strength team with Tella and Zaroury and a weak utd team then a win for us, a mixed team for us and 5 or 6 first team player's for them and its 2 or 3 nil loss

Not a chance Zaroury is in the team tonight. He was still in Morocco yesterday

For once I will be really disappointed if we lose tonight and also lose to Bournemouth in the FA cup. Our performances at the moment make me think that a good cup run is very possible for once.

Who will play in central defence?

No Martinez or Varane. Maguire. Hope so.

The only side to bully us this year was Sheff utd, this may be the second, though there back line is not that mobile. Will be an interesting test and a measure of how far we have come

If we are without Tella Vitinho and Zaroury then that’s a big hole in our best eleven
