Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
I’m worried about the boo-boys. They can’t have abandoned The club because we are getting sell-out home games a full quota away take-ups. Where the hell have they gone??
The usual targets for abuse: Barnes, Muric (penalty save), Brownhill and now Robert’s are all making match- winning performances and even Peacock-Farrell has made a come-back. I think it’s even possible that a certain tall Dutch, WC hero could sit in the dug-out (providing he wore a false wig beard and glasses of course).

The moaning guy on the Bob Lord has been extremely quiet this season too, which is a miracle in itself

There were plenty giving ironic cheers for Muric catching the ball last night. Strange people.

I’m still waiting for papabendi (a poster who I massively respect) to admit that all the times he called me out in the last few years for saying that Jack Cork is our best player and key to how we play… that he might just have been wrong.

Boo boys? Get a grip.
We have a calm fan base compared to most. Even the atmosphere when getting relegated was just subdued.
If you don't like fans having opinions on things (however wrong) then maybe messageboard's aren't for you?

There’s still a few who sit near me who were moaning last night when we were 2 nil up and keeping the ball.
And Muric will never win some people over despite his passing ability.

Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
Many people on here were being called boo boys for asking for a change from Dyche, bet there not being labelled boo boys anymore. Funny old world!

There were some cheers when BC tried to put us under some arial pressure but I saw those as genuine and not ironic (my cheer certainly was genuine!)daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:04 amThere were plenty giving ironic cheers for Muric catching the ball last night. Strange people.

Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
I think you were the one that was wrong if you think over the last few years Cork was our best player.
Pope, Tarks and Wood are definitely all better players than Cork and there's a few others too that probably are as well.
Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
Plenty of people have made up their minds on Muric. Lots of shouts of "get rid of it" etc. Yet when he rushes and kicks it aimlessly we invariably surrender possession.
Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
I think a number of them are no longer Burnley fans, they were just along for the PL ride and will follow Dyche to his next gig.
At least those willing Roberts and Muric to fail have silenced for a while, they'll reappear though soon enough.

Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
Indeed. My wording could have been better. My main argument throughout all of this is that Jack Cork “improves Burnley” when he’s in the side. I completely standby what I have been saying for many years now. What I said, was strongly disagreed with by countless people, with papabendi being the most vociferous. Nothing wrong with that, though, as like I’ve said, he is always someone who I have respected immensely.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 12:24 pmI think you were the one that was wrong if you think over the last few years Cork was our best player.

Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
We were certainly often derided and ridiculed - and maybe on occasions our desire for a regime change manifested itself in a bit of booing.
Under Dychee it often (mostly) felt as if we were bogged down in the muddy trenches subdued by a superior enemy under heavy machine gun fire, with the occasional successful counter attack then pushed back to the strarting position - whereas now (with the shackles removed) the enemy, having been stunned by a new weapon has retreated in terror and we are dancing freely in the sweet scented meadows of a new day.
Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
To be fair, all that negativity and the hissy fits after we lost a couple of pre-season kickabouts against Newcastle in Portugal seem totally warranted now...

Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
I agree based on the midfielders we had we were better with Cork in the team. The problem we had the last couple of seasons was than none of our midfielders were good enough and that includes Jack Cork. So yes we were better with Cork in the team but at the same time Cork was very much a part of our teams weak link that IMO ultimately cost us our place in the Premier Leaguejdrobbo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 12:45 pmIndeed. Iam very critical of muric... But I've never booed him, or wished him to fail.... We are allowed opinions, are we not?

There will be plenty sat in the wings, just waiting for this current bubble to burst. If and when it does, you’ll hear ‘em - you won’t need to ask where they are, or what they are doing. They’ll be here, and you’ll hear ‘em.

Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
Intrigued to know what the poster who said we were ‘now relegation candidates’ after the Watford game or something ridiculous is thinking now. ArthurShelby I think. Anyway, just enjoy it - some folk will always find a negative
Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
They were singing Robert's name last night so I think he might have won more than a few over. He has played well for the last couple of games and looks, finally, to be enjoying his football. He had a rough year just after he signed where he nearly died but some fans didn't give him the chance to properly recover. Also, this system suits him better and it shows.
Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
Does this not also apply to those who don’t like fans having opinions on “the boo boys”?Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:26 am....If you don't like fans having opinions on things (however wrong) then maybe messageboard's aren't for you?

Burnley Moaners is a species, which will never die.
Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
Wow... The old not going to games rubbish
Just for info... Season ticket holder since 1973....probably get to 50% away games as well.
I was there last night, I shouted loudly at Muric when he punched a ball surrounded by 4 Burnley players
I cheered when the Birmingham player threw one straight into his hands, as did others around me.. Not at Muric.

Re: Have the boo-boys become happy bunnies.
What a weird thread, players are playing well so nobody is being critical, but people will vent again when somebody isn't playing well?
Have I read that right?
People sarcastically cheer a failed long throw and that is perceived as an attack on the keeper?
All must be well, if we're stretching this far looking for discontent..

Been going on the turf since '64.
Never met these "boo boys".. Just people with different personalities, all of whom want nothing but success for Burnley FC but have various ways of showing it.
I'm more puzzled by all the "holier than thou" crap on here.

I think there were a few on here with the last thing they wanted being success for Burnley FC.....
Nothing "holier than thou" in asking if their opinions have changed.

I never boo or jeer our own players and the ironic cheering for Muric is not on, but I'm not gonna line he pushed me right up to my line last night with that punch in the first half. You know the one. A non-league keeper having just sat his GCSE's would catch that. I kind of love the bloke for his madness, and with his distribution he's a net positive, but that punch made me quite hysterical for a moment.

I was happy to be the fall guy on here for years, speaking for those who didn't dare to speak out against dire football. I now feel vindicated, look at what we should've been, one of the biggest clubs in the Championship, the largest away following in the division, Vincent Kompany's Burnley, opposition fans no longer complain about how timewasting shithouse and scruffy we are, now we're given plaudits for the football on show.
Kompany has built a really good squad too, often young lads from big clubs are ego maniacs, paid fortunes from a young age and lack hunger. The squad seems to be full of really nice polite young gentlemen. Role models the youth can relate too, I don't think I've seen Tella stop smiling. Maatsen's nice touch at Christmas. Brownhill has done quite alot of community work since joining etc.

I do wonder if he punched to try start a counter attack, he's definitely not 100% confident from high balls, although he did really well to catch a few last night. Give him a few years and I think he'll be a top keeper, he has the most difficult parts down, just needs to cut out the hesitating when a cross comes in.Spiral wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 8:09 pmI never boo or jeer our own players and the ironic cheering for Muric is not on, but I'm not gonna line he pushed me right up to my line last night with that punch in the first half.
