In my opinion the greatest of all time.
Revolutionised the game.
Coincidentally I watched a you tube video of him yesterday called “Pele did it all 50 years ago”. Worth a watch for those who never got to see him.
RIP

Because I was able to witness him in his prime - on TV of course - I still have him as the best ever. Brazil 1970 world cup team with him as the main man will always be the best team I've seen.

Had a good innings and left a great legacy.

R.I.P Edson Arantes do Nascimento.

RIP Pele.

Not just a great footballer but a wonderful ambassador for football.

It's very difficult to argue against him being the Greatest footballer that's ever been.

RIP Pele, a true legend of the game and one of the greatest from an era when it was played by true sportsmen.

I'll never forget the sadness after watching him being kicked out of the World Cup in 1966 before the elation of him and the best team of all time in 1970.

RIP Pele. It can be argued who is the GOAT but I doubt there would be many, if anyone, who would disagree that he was the greatest of his time.

For those who never saw him , there’s a video doing the rounds on twitter that pretty much shows you why, he pretty much did every move that’s has subsequently become famous before any other player, from the cruff turn to the ronaldo shuffle.

Not a surprise alas, and there's few in sport who command total respect around the world, Muhammad Ali was one and Pele was also in that bracket, a complete ambassador on and off the field.

RIP Pele

Even after 50+ years, this is still one of the great sporting photographs. Mutual respect shing through each others eyes ... the game that also included the " Banks save " .... 7th June 1970, Guadalajara, Mexico. RIP, Pele !!

A great ambassador for football , for Brazil and for the art of sport without the "big-head' aspect of many of the modern 'stars'.

Just a point of interest did any Burnley players of the past actually play in a team with Pele or against Pele?
