So Who's Coming Down?

Post by ElectroClaret » Fri Dec 30, 2022 11:23 pm

In all this talk of us going up, if..IF ..it happens, who we gonna replace?

For me its looking like Wolves, Forest and Southampton, the current 3 occupants of the relegation places.
(With a possible challenge by Everton. West Ham i feel will have enough to keep out of danger.)
Opinions?

Got to hope Southampton do, just to give us chance on getting Tella, baby.

Southampton look doomed this time. Wouldn't like to guess the other two, if I had to I'll say Forest and Bournemouth.

Southampton made an appalling appointment in Jones. Consigned themselves to relegation there and then.

Forest had improved the last few games before the World Cup. I think he is finally getting to know his best team. They might have a chance as the rest haven't taken their chance and pulled away. It leaves a nice space for Everton if they do :D .

I dont think any of West Ham, Everton or Forest will have the same managers at the end of the season as now.
Maybe other clubs as well. So that may change things.

My wish list would be...
West Ham - can't stand their Taxpayer Stadium and Dildo owners. The Tevez thing still wrankles.
Everton - simply because of their delusional ideas above their standing.
Leeds - no explanation required.

Current bottom 3 - no beef... except maybe Forrest. I hope they all stay up.

Lopategui will keep Wolves up.
Saints are doomed after their poor appointment of Jones.
Forest are improving and could sneak out.
I’d love to see Everton and Leeds go but fear for West Ham.

I'm torn over Leeds tbh. On one hand I'd love to be in a division above next season but on the other I'd love to take six points off them and send them down ourselves. Tough one.

Southampton Forest Wolves.

But I still think Leeds Everton and even Leicester aren't out of it.

I've got no time for Leeds, don't want Forest pre-season buying millions of players to be successful (slightly hypocritically I appreciate) and think Everton fans have been poor for a while. Those 3 for me please.

I was pondering this the other day.. if we go up and struggle and possibly yoyo for a season or two, we're better off being in the company of Sheff Utd, Norwich or whoever comes up with us rather than the three that will be coming down this season.. the Championship will be a tougher league next season

Forest and Saints look the most likely, and I’d love the third team to be Everton. They’ve been so close quite a few times but always seem to do just enough to escape. It might take the chip off the shoulder of their fanbase.

Still a lot of season left to go.... i'm not sold on Wolves since they can't seem to score goals. Fulham seems to being well enough to say up so at least one established team will go down.
I think it is safe to say that outside the top 6, every team is in a relegation battle.

After today's results it's looking increasingly like everyone from Palace and above will be safe, therefore that leaves 3 from 9 for the drop.

You'd imagine Leicester and West Ham will pull clear, Villa probably also have enough in reserve, and Everton and Leeds seem to pull results out when needed.

Wolves under their new gaffer look much better, and will surely try and buy in a striker next month.

So my 3 with no great confidence are.

Bournemouth- shipping way too many goals, and crucially struggling to beat the teams around them.

Forest- they have improved in recent games, but I'm still not convinced about some of their summer signings, and they are another side who struggle in the 6 pointers.

Southampton-Jones is out of his depth in the Prem, and they've sold too many quality players without adequately replacing them sound familiar.

Forest for sure unless a miracle happens. Then its looking like Southampton and AN other. I'd like it to be Everton - because of their fans dogs abuse of McNeil - but I don't think it will be. Only half way through a disjointed season so things can change.

Not too bothered as long as it is West Ham and Everton. Former because they have dreams above their station and Everton because they have been there or thereabouts for ages.

Bournemouth
West Ham
Southampton
Would make a lovely trio of southern clubs for the drop.

Burnley
Sheffield United
A northern club
Would make nice replacements.
