I've been well impressed with the support during the last few years, especially last season
This season the chants have been well thought out and loud and the players have certainly responded in a big way...
But ...
For all the good work why the hell do we drag ourselves down by the cringeworthy chanting of "you're fcking sh*t" when the opposition is heading for the dressing room.
Sort of acceptable when we play against them down the road but please let's bin it.

Also 'your grounds too big for you' and 'empty seats'!

Agree sounds moronic and big headed whilst also likely to wind the opposition up for any return fixture, where they get the chance to return the compliment.
Don’t have a problem with a round of anti football for teams like Stoke.

I think the younger generation have only really experienced us being good in this division, you do need to be careful of the arrogance though. Personally I wouldn’t walk around another town/village singing Burnley songs with a can in my hand either, it’s something you grow out of though (usually)

"You should have gone Xmas shopping" at QPR was a favourite of mine.

That chant still haunts me when we sang it to the Leeds fans a few years ago. We were 2-0up at the time.

We lost 2-3 in the end.

Totally agree . The chant when we played the b…tards in the 3.0 win was very apt and wonderful in its simplicity so let’s just archive it for ‘special occasions ‘ ie. when we play them .

Agreed, despise this one - proper tinpot (as is the one mentioned in the OP - unfunny and doesn’t even sound good)

I bellowed this out for the first time in the Brum game just to annoy the boring old knobsacks on these threads.

I personally find grown men and women singing silly songs at football matches all a bit cringe. I can get why teenagers might get excited by it but adults behaving like drunken carol singers is just very odd

Yeah, ridiculous that men and women sing songs at a football match.

Completely agree with the OP - that song needs to stop. It’s classless. Sing about our own team and players, it’s much better.

Also agree with Leisure re: the “is this a library” and “your grounds too big for you” stuff - absolutely tinpot.

We have some of the best support in the country, there’s no need to ruin it with classless or tinpot chants. Only other request would be one or two more original songs vs words to generic football tunes. I love “no net never”, “our Lancashire homes”, etc for that reason.

Don't get it, chants to the opposing fans and teams are supposed to be intimidating, derogatory and cutting, It's funny. Football chants shouldn't be taken so seriously, it's all a bit pantomime. See the Stoke Vlog where the lad gave a little laugh and said oh this is painful when we were in full voice with that particular chant and then after went on to say how good our fans are. We have been on the end of similar chants and will be again no doubt, found it funny then and will again.

Perhaps the “ chant “ moaners are forgetting that when there’s 3000 boozed up happy and raucous away fans it’s simply part of the fun of a winning away day . More so when we’re so bloody good . Of course there’s cringe songs, what about that awful Jay Rod do wah diddy thing sweet Jesus !
Just enjoy the ride .

Calling your own fellow fans ‘boring old knobsacks’ is arguably a lot worse than critical broadsides at some of our chants (in what was actually a mainly positive OP)

We got the same off Sheff United at the end of our game there.. i thought fair enough at the time. It’s fine to dish it out as long as you can take it. All good fun on the whole.
