Brentford won at City, their recruitment has been excellent, Frank has built a physical and technically good side
Re: Klippety Klopp
Brentford have had some really good results - pity they didnt against Leeds last game last season. But never mind. Klopp haha - Me Ed

After watching that tonight Brentford should have won 5-1 they were all over Liverpool
Re: Klippety Klopp
Liverpool’s midfield is a mess. Not sure why he keeps persisting with Harvey Elliott, nowhere near good enough off the ball.

Love the way the Brentford fans shout MEEEEEEE, every time he goes for a ball in the box. Obviously a big hit there, and it couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. Epitomised everything that was good about us, and a true professional.

I’ve already posted ,but we need a song similar to Brentford ( Hey Jude) that all the fans can sing at the end.

Horses for courses. A brilliant defender but not right for this for the system we’re playing. If you could combine the best bits of Mee, Tarky, THB and Beyer you’d probably be looking at a 100 million pound defender

Re: Klippety Klopp
Big result for Brentford, especially with them missing Toney. They would have to suffer a total collapse not to be safe now given the points they've already got on the board.
It's funny the excuses these managers roll out when they taste a defeat, Conte claims Spurs are tired, and Liverpool's recruitment has been poor for the past few windows, and now it's starting to show as their stretched ageing squad is creaking.
Just demonstrates how competitive the PL is nowadays, could we compete next season, possibly however we'll have to recruit wisely.

Simple solution just trim the European fixtures, the Champions League nonsense especially, ah! but of course that will cost the big boys to lose revenue so it'll never happen.

Re: Klippety Klopp
Those thinking THB and Beyer are better than Ben Mee are nuts.
Both incredible players for their ages, and both MAY end up developing into better players than Mee… but Jesus, Mee has performed consistently well at Premier League level for a number of years.
We are fantastic to watch this season, but there’s seems a weird need for some to completely dismiss everything we achieved, and everyone who played for us under Dyche’s tenure.

We played with 11 defending the penalty area i would look good at CB.Indecisive wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 9:27 pmThose thinking THB and Beyer are better than Ben Mee are nuts.

He’s now performing incredibly well at 7th place Brentford.
Come on… can anyone seriously argue Mee is anything other than a consistently performing premier league defender.

Re: Klippety Klopp
Totally agree, been saying for several years UEFA are just as greedy as FIFA, they cried when the super league was trying to happen but yet they want national leagues cut in numbers to accommodate more European matches, the top European leagues need to stand together and tell them to k*off. Go back to each country having one representative in the champions league on a KO basis but it won`t happen. Ironically all these tired players from the top teams will be off playing exhibition matches in the far east and the like when the season ends.

Re: Klippety Klopp
I think due to our dominance in this division and the way we play Mee would bring this team more limitations than positives compared to the two centre backs we currently have.
If we were in the Premier League then the opposite would be true as Mee is streets are of them in terms of defending at the moment. I think TBH will easily step up and within 12-18 months he'll be well above Mee's level but whist Beyer has bags of potential there is no guarantee he'll get much better than Mee if better at all

Re: Klippety Klopp
The way we were able to kill off the game today against Swansea by keeping the ball moving at the back in the last ten minutes with THB and Beyer always being available to receive the ball, we aren't doing that with Mee in the side. Mee is not comfortable enough on the ball for that. Amazing reader of the game, great leader, knows how to tackle, head the ball, well 'ard and everything, but THB and Beyer can always be trusted to receive a pass where Mee could not (and, if the UTD game was anything to go by, so too Peacock-Farrell, where it was obvious the defenders were told to play forward under pressure, not back, unlike with Muric in the side).
Re: Klippety Klopp
Point is, Mee is an amazing defender and comfortably PL calibre, but try to imagine a player like, say, Lukaku playing in Pep's side. Amazing player and can do a job for someone, just not the right fit for certain styles.

Re: Klippety Klopp
Why do people feel the need to enjoy our current success at the expense of having a pop at previous players? "No offence to Ben Mee, he was great for us but he's not as good as x and can't do what y can do". No need for it and wouldn't like to see these people when they were trying to offend.

Re: Klippety Klopp
I don't agree. And the context in which it is done by certain posters on here is always to run down the old regime in comparison to the new regime. It's toxic and unnecessary. Both were great for Burnley. Some people just can't move on.
Re: Klippety Klopp
"What's the new winger like?"
"Oh, decent, pretty quick."
"Yeah? Good cross?"
"Yeah, good cross on him. Kinda reminds me of..."
"HALT! Don't you dare say another goddamn word"

Re: Klippety Klopp
Getting a little carried away with THB and Beyer IMO. They are good but don’t forget they are playing in the Championship.PremierLeagueClass wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:42 pmHorses for courses. They fit in with Vincent’s “loose” expansive possession football and it’s working. If we do secure promotion, they and Muric in goal won’t get away with playing like this in the Premier League. Ben was a great pro at Burnley and a proven Premier League Defender. Who is to say he couldn’t play with his feet like our current two?
However good THB and Beyer are in our current set up, they don’t command our defence like Ben did and don’t give me any confidence in defending crosses and corners into our box. Especially when we have a giant of a keeper who doesn’t command his area also.
Not being negative, just realistic. It is a brilliant half term report thus far for Vincent and the squad and it is good to be a claret at present.

Re: Klippety Klopp
I think even the biggest Ben Mee fan can't agree with this. If he was as adept in possession as he is out of possession then he'd have moved clubs from Burnley a long time ago.
I agree that our Centre backs now are untested in the premier League and I'm sure they will ship more goals than a Dyche team with Tarkowski and Mee but hopefully we will be able to win by outscoring and Beyer and Harwood-Bellis will help a lot more with that than Mee or Tarkowski would.

Beyer has played many Bundesliga matches as Center back beating the likes of Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig. Does that count?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 11:24 pmBeyer and THB have never played premier league football.
Like comparing apples to pears. If they have half as successful career as Ben they can pat themselves on the back.

To bring this back to Klippety, i see now Brentford are winning they are overly physical and cheat at free kicks.
Yawn! Wenger singled out Bolton n Stoke. Klipperty points the finger at us, sheff u and now Brentford.
It tells me that Brentford are a solid outfit who work hard.
Anything or anyone who upsets Klipperty is doing something right!
