Moyes would be interesting. I wonder if West Ham could tempt Pochettino or Rodgers
Soccer Swingers in play…

Moyes to swap with Lampard - they end up screwing each others teams… or is it a case of they’ve already swapped and screwed the teams as much as they can and now is the time to return…?

Saying Dyche was not at his best in his final year is perfectly fine, saying he was a s**t manager is borderline bonkers
Last I'm going to say on this.

Fed up to the back teeth with the obsession with SD, the comparisons and the ridiculous flak the man takes on here.

In years to come, most people will look back and say he was our best manager since Harry Potts.

Aye! what has Dyche ever down for BFC, apart from 2 Championship promotions, 2 top 10 PL finishes, oh! yes and a brief foray into Europe.

Yes often his style was pragmatic, however it kept us in the PL for 5 straights seasons, so let's give the guy credit for that at least, while acknowledging the final 18 months or so of his tenure wasn't the best, in the overall context he worked miracles to make Burnley a competitive PL side who could often trouble the elite sides.

If that success isn't considered good enough for some then good luck to Vincent Kompany.

You see a lot of people are blinded by anger when it comes to Dyche.

If you could actually point out that hoping he gets relegated again if he were to take on the Everton job is an actual go at what he has done for us? It’s ok I understand that some of the 6 fingered banjo pluckers get whipped into a frenzy as they have limited intelligence to actually understand what is going on around them.

Overall he done a good job for us absolutely, but his own limitations shone through and we ended up in a bit of a mess because of him the last few years of his tenure. I personally despised the football on offer under him and the aloofness which he portrays so yes any club he ends up I will be delighted at his and their failure, a sort of get it right up ye approach.

Same as Coyle now. His achievement in my view was far superior to Dyche in what resources they had to work with. Doesn’t mean I have to like him and want to pull myself inside out about him. Quite the opposite I hope he’s an absolute failure everywhere he goes. ( to be fair he largely has been )

As a side note I don’t think Dyche could get a tune out of this Everton team. There is little attacking threat, he could maybe bludgeon his way to enough draws and a couple of sneaky wins to just about be safe. Still I’d be very surprised if he’s even offered the job. It would appear that he’s not aswell received by the rest of the footballing community as some of our fans.

Just seen the Everton v Brighton game-wow what shocking defending by Everton, and one of the worst games I have seen Tarkowski play. By the way it may have been mentioned before but I think I have just seen our ex Academy Manager (who assisted Michael Jackson when SD left) as part of the Brighton back room team. Had not realised he had left

Everton now in the bottom 3 ahead of their next 2 PL matches at home to Southampton, then away to West Ham, do they stick with Lampard for those 2 crucial fixtures, or do they twist and hope for a new manager bounce to revive them?

Those 2 matches will be the decision making games, as they will show where Everton are positioned in comparison to teams they should be beating, given their investment.

Lampard or no Lampard I don’t have any animosity toward Everton but given the last few years I think they need a relegation. They have teetered on the edge now for what seems like years and keep scraping through. As, I think, the second longest serving top flight club it’s a shame but I think they need a reality check. It might just be good for them to realise that the PL doesn’t owe them anything. I think they are a decent club and the fans are okay but I think it’s time they let someone else have a go.
After last season it would be quite a irony if we replaced them wouldn’t it.

Leicester have most of the first team out injured. They will probably stick with him because of this.

Having watched MOTD and having slept on it, I still think that the 4th goal “mistake” was deliberate by the Everton defender. That back pass was too poor to be just a mistake. It was just the right weight and straight into the path of the Brighton player. It wasn’t even in a direct line to the keeper.

Popular opinion on here seems to want Everton to go down but I wonder how many might change that view if a certain Sean Dyche becomes the Everton manager in the next week or so.

I think it would be a good short term fit to keep them up but I couldn't see Dyche lasting long at a club as big as Everton
He is one of our own. We would want him to succeed.

Don't think Dyche as any chance of going to Everton if Frank goes I don't think he could handle the top players , you only have to look at our club and a couple of players were not going to sign contract extension if a certain person was still at the club . I might be wrong but I personally think a club in the premiership would only take Dyche similar to a fat Sam in a desperate situation.
What top players do Everton have? Calvert Lewin has been there 8 years and hit double figures twice.

The two central defenders we sold them have both been exposed as useless bang average players unless they're in a Dyche system where they only move side to side and defend in a park the bus system.

Who in that side would you take here? Pickford sure. I think Calvert Lewin is wildly overrated but sure its a weak spot of ours. I don't think Gordon or Onana are brilliant players but they're young with potential so sure, id take them.

What's left after that? Andros Townsend lol? I liked him on commentary in the World Cup.

If I may continue - We would want SD to succeed at a club which has been a graveyard in recent times for both players and managers previously successful at other clubs.

I’m no fan of the brand of football Dyche played during his time at BFC. I am also wise enough to understand that it was a highly pragmatic approach that was effective for the budget and for the players we were able to attract to the club.

In regards to those players who may or may not have had concerns with Dyche; we just don’t know what those conversations looked like, or what impacted the relationship. Dyche may have been protecting the club around budgets, retaining players when they wanted to move, or just not offering game time in his system. We just don’t know, so we can’t say with any certainty who was to blame.

I am interested to see Dyches next job and who he chooses to take with him in his backroom staff. That’ll be a big indicator as to his direction for me.

I think he’ll adapt, he’s an intelligent and reflective man. I think he’s a top top manager that could and should be given an opportunity at a top six club one day.

We should be thankful for all he did for this club on the pitch, and off the pitch.
I agree with most of this. He did what he did out of pragmatism but can he adapt to allow for better players? I don’t think he will ever manage a top six club because he has been forever linked with his style of play but that is not the main reason. I believe Dyche is an honest but abrasive man who cannot tolerate anyone who doesn’t totally tow the line and as such I think he would be at odds with the overpaid prima donnas at a top six club. I’m not convinced he could handle these players demands and petulant strops, players who have more money than the dreams of avarice. He was at home here but give him a multi millionaire child to deal with and I’m not sure he could.

Sounds like he's safe for now, 1 win in 10 PL games is a terrible run for any club let alone one of Everton's stature.

Lampard is Everton's 7th manager since Moshiri took over in 2016, how the heck is that any stability to build anything.

On the bright side they'll have a bright shiny new stadium to wow Championship fans with should they finally suffer the drop.

Knowing Everton's luck they'll scrap survival by the skin of their teeth again, but that club is a total mess with no apparent plan in place to turn things around.

The answer has to be yes. Players such as Defour and Brady were accommodated and we played some great football in the season Defour was fit.

Not quite sure what you are trying to say with your clumsy post ? Is it Burnley doesn't have a coast so because you don't live in Burnley you can't possibly go to games ?

If that is what you are trying to claim when you read it don't you agree it's quite dumb ? Just to be clear though born and raised in the town and moved to Lytham with the Mrs aged 24 as we both wanted to live somewhere nicer. I still go to games home and away and had a season ticket since the 80s as a kid. When I lived in Burnley guess what, I went games then too.

Now imagine living in the town and can't be arsed to even walk down the road to watch the team you claim to support :D

Carrying a folded copy of the Burnley Express 😉

It would be better as a battle Royale format. Could have a few guests to enter the ring aswell to spice things up a bit.

I pick Imploding Turtle.
Now that guy will be soft as sh!t.

Part of the fun though..

So far we have KRBFC, Claretonthecoast and IT.

What is a battle Royale 20 people last man standing?

Need another 17 characters.

Good Lord, KRBFC and claretonthecoast meeting up for a fight.

Not what I expected to read when I opened the Lampard thread, but playground stuff has always been the order of the day with those two.

To be fair, IT was invalided out of the Royal Marines or some guff like that wasn't he?
