Prized Possessions
Since lockdown the market for memorabilia/collectibles seems to have gone through the roof as people rediscovered old hobbies.
Seeing a couple of people post that they’d won one of the match worn Endsleigh shirts made me wonder what else people have accumulated in their time supporting the Clarets.
I’ve got a shirt signed by most of the players from the first Premier League season. Would love to get hold of something from Kompany’s reign given the way this season is shaping up and the potential he’s got as a manager.
So what is your prized possession when it comes to Burnley FC? Can be anything, a shirt, programme, photo etc.

Re: Prized Possessions
I actually got my prized Burnley possession very recently (after the Blackburn game). A pair of Bad Beat Bob's signed and dedicated by Robbie Blake, and then a photo with the man himself - I am framing these with a photo of him celebrating in his own pair on the pitch at Wembley. Also have a signed, match worn Blake shirt framed that is on hung on the stairs. Funnily enough that says 'Happy 18th Luke, Robbie Blake' on it, and he then got all mardy and sold a week or so later. That sullied the shirt a bit so I was glad he came back! I discussed it on a podcast I did with him and he apologised (Yes I am a Robbie Blake enthusiast).
The two desires of mine would be a 99/00 season Glen Little shirt that I can hopefully get signed by him, and this seasons Endsleigh shirt which I sadly didn't manage to get, signed by this seasons squad.

Brilliant! Blake is my all time favourite Burnley player so I can appreciate the value of what you’ve got there! Stuff like that where you’ve got a personal connection to the item makes it priceless.

Re: Prized Possessions
On a recent visit to a medical facility, my possessions were placed in a plastic bag which was later presented to me upon discharge. Bag colour is "our blue", lettering on bag is coloured "our claret". Wording is " Hospital Patient's Belongings". No way will it be dumped!
Re: Prized Possessions
Mine are my dads scrap books from back in the day and in europe, there are all the autographs and hundreds of press cuttings and pages of results written down in them, they must be going on 70 years old now and are exceptional to look through. I was going to takr them to the club to see if they had any interest in displaying them, but after how they have "looked after" all the boards with the pictures of past players on I don't think I will bother.
Re: Prized Possessions
I have been going through all the old programmes and ticket stubs that me and my dad have collected over the years. I even found the old program from the Derby County away Cup game in 1992. Its even signed by Andy Marriot, who was in the away end that game. My dad also has the newspaper report about the game, all framed and he has finally agreed to hand them all over to me.

Re: Prized Possessions
I’ve got a retro 59/60 shirt signed by all the players of that team, a postcard of that team with the trophy signed by everyone on it and a match worn 81/82 top signed by the team.

A personal scrapbook by one of the players of the 1947 cup run. Newspaper cuttings, tickets, programmes, and some doodles. It is a lovely object. I've often thought about digitising it all.

Re: Prized Possessions
I have a match worn keepers shirt from mid 90s - given to me by Marlon Beresford back when i worked at the club. I wore it for several years playing 5 and 6 a side and on the astro turf at Towneley and also wore it when the old site had 2 teams playing on the Turf, 2004 I think it was. Now hung up in a wardrobe and doesn't get worn.

Re: Prized Possessions
There'll be people on here (me included) who would be interested to see at least some of it. Look at this thread to illustrate the sort of interest you might find:claretabroad wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 12:44 pmA personal scrapbook by one of the players of the 1947 cup run. You could, if you felt like it, even make an article for this site. I did something like that for a military forum using my father's photos from a post war trip of his RAF squadron Lancasters to the USA. It was well received and provides info for all who want it (there was no money involved, just a labour of love!).

Re: Prized Possessions
Nothing spectacular but we still have Duff's football boot he threw in the crowd at Charlton (2016) when we won the championship last time and he retired from playing football . I need him to sign it.

Re: Prized Possessions
A signed red nosed football which the players kicked into the crowd many years ago, at a guess would say it was 93-94 season

Re: Prized Possessions
I won a Programme from the Maine Road 1960 game at a Clarets Mad Dinner.
It was signed by Jimmy McIlroy. I should have got Trevor Meredith to sign it as he was at the Dinner, not sure why I didn't but maybe he went before the Auction/Raffle.
I had it framed and gave it to Tex Grogan to display in Vintage Clarets.

Re: Prized Possessions
I don't collect stuff really, but I have kept a programme I got signed by John Deary and Winston White when they came out of a do at a WMC in Ossy for a kick around with us on the street when we were about 12. Couldn't have been happier if it had been Diego Maradona and Gazza.
Re: Prized Possessions
If you go in the Bob Lord Stand and turn left, there’s a painting on the wall of Grezza scoring in the 4-0 win over Bristol City to confirm our play off place in 2009, signed by the man himself.
That’s mine - currently on loan to the club

Re: Prized Possessions
I have an article from the Observer newspaper 1987 written by Blake Morrison. He talks about having trials at Burnley as a child but how the call from the manager never came. Ending the season languishing at the bottom of the league he says maybe he should be happy the call never came. But he concludes part of him will always be waiting. Still brings a tear to me now.
