Here's Burnley's "net to net" goals this season. A very interesting watch.

Re: Muric’s passing
He's definitely improved since the start of the season, and what I noticed is his decision making is much better now.
A key part of how we build from the back, however whether he and we will be able to continue that expansive style successfully in the PL is the pertinent question.

Looks a lot more relaxed for sure . He’s excellent with his feet , though this is how they expect keepers to play from about 9up now in academy’s and has been for about 10 yrs . He’s a keeper whose been through the total “ modern age keeper “ system which is perfect for us .

Re: Muric’s passing
He's also got great reflexes and is a good shot stopper.
Just needs to impose himself more in his own box on set plays.
A big goalie collecting a ball with his knees advanced mostly scares opposing players

Re: Muric’s passing
Unbelievable passer of a football, and I think it's fair to say ice cold nerves with it. He'll mess up the odd time, but like many managers have said his range is so good it's almost impossible to fully press us..
Great to watch..

Re: Muric’s passing
Good as he is with distribution he is still a liability when crosses come into the box unless it`s a routine catch, but I agree he has improved as the season has gone on, he will have to up his game massively if/when we go up.

Re: Muric’s passing
Really don't think 'liability' is accurate. He could command things better given his size but there's been a significant improvement in his decision making on crosses, which is as important as handling in those situations.
Easy to compare him to the pontiff, who dominated his box seemingly with ease, but, apart from being one of the best in the world, we protected Pope way more than we do Muric - especially on corners.

They missed the pass for the Tella through-ball.

Re: Muric’s passing
I agree to an extent re Pope but Tarks/Mee knew he would be there or thereabouts when the crosses came in and that they could virtually rely on him to do that but Muric given his size is to reluctant to leave his line to take crosses under pressure as Sheff Utd noticed and played on him, he really does need to work on his dominance of the 6 yard box at least, the mans a giant the forwards should be worried about him not the other way round, I do believe there is a good all round keeper in there but it doesn`t appear as often as it needs to at this level of footballquoonbeatz wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 9:52 amReally don't think 'liability' is accurate. Re: Muric’s passing
The change from the crowd compared to the start of the season is crazy.
At the beginning people were losing their heads screaming to 'get rid', against Coventry the player was bearing down on him, got pretty close and the crowd didn't even wince before he played a pass.

Re: Muric’s passing
I was at the Luton game, and West Brom was my 1st visit since, and yes there's been a marked change regarding Muric and his passing out from the back routine.JTClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 1:42 pmThe change from the crowd compared to the start of the season is crazy.

Re: Muric’s passing
I think you could see what was wanted of him from the beginning, it was shaky and somewhat nerve wracking but VK persevered and he's becoming what he wanted, the improvement is better than good. Reading today about Pope and the confidence their back four have in him now, I think can be applied to BFC and while Beyer has clearly been an improvement from season kick off, I feel our defense has more confidence in Muric. This confidence has been key in our performance regarding goals conceded, hopefully it can improve further and they are working on his catching and dominating his box, especially at corners.

Imagine that last year and not screaming 'get rid'
Re: Muric’s passing
I think the other element is that the team around him are much better at receiving the ball in tight spaces and dispatching it in neat triangles. When Muric was passing it through to Cullen or cork on the middle early in the season, they were like rabbits in headlights. Now they're all so cool and collected, and they know there will be a team mate to their left or right happy to take the ball.
