LeBron James breaks NBA record
no-one has thought his feat worthy of mention, and bad news for NBA defenders he's planning on playing for sometime yet.

Re: LeBron James breaks NBA record
Just watched the record breaking game on Sky. What an absolutely amazing achievement after a 20 year career playing at the absolute highest sporting level. Is he the greatest basketball player all times? He is certainly up there with Jordan, Byrd, Magic, Kareem Jabaar, and he says he wants to carry on for a few more years. I thought Kareem Jabaar's 39 year old record would never be broken, but this man has reached new heights in basketball, congratulations Lebronn James.

Karen Abdul Jabbar is my all time fave.
Read a book about him when he was Lew Alcinder! 7 feet 2 is rather large!
Very nice man. Writes a lot. Recently read a short book about how his policeman father influenced him, to make a difference and do the right thing.

“There was a brief break in play for a ceremony to mark the achievement, with James taking a microphone to make a speech on court.”
This is an example of how Americans just don't understand sport

I'm fine with them showing respect and appreciation to the greats but not sure why they couldn't do it after the game ?!claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 5:57 am“There was a brief break in play for a ceremony to mark the achievement, with James taking a microphone to make a speech on court.”

Can you imagine a brief ceremony after Harry Kane immediately after scoring against Man City?
Rather than being ridiculed here, maybe John Terry should've played in the MLS. Ye-haw!

The same reason some golf spectators shout "get in the hole" as soon as the ball leaves the tee on a 550 yard hole...Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 6:13 amI'm fine with them showing respect and appreciation to the greats but not sure why they couldn't do it after the game ?!
These people are silly people.
And yes I did come on a thread with a title of a sport I I have no interest in, as I knew it would highlight those silly people over the pond, and some on this side who can't help but be fascinate by everything the Americans do.
It's always nice to have the little moment to remember there's people out there less fortunate than yourself

He isn't the greatest, but he's one of the greats.Vino blanco wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 12:31 amJust watched the record breaking game on Sky. He'll never match Jordan's feats for example, then there are others of a similar quality, but what he's done certainly can't be dismissed and he's rightly regarded as a great player.

Yes it was all hugs and kisses from the assembled guests - including KAJ!claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 5:57 am“There was a brief break in play for a ceremony to mark the achievement, with James taking a microphone to make a speech on court.”

Incredible achievement, lucky enough to have seen him live in LA.
