The Turf pre-kick off is brilliant, seems to be different content made match by match and it all looks and sounds epic.

Top marks for that light show. Love it. A great bit of hype, just a pity that the football in the first half wasn’t as electric

Generally don't like the Americanisation of our culture and all the razzmatazz. But the light show and accompanying music is excellent, in building up the atmosphere. Full marks to whoever responsible.
Just need to the dog troop back at half time now.

Some of our more 'curmudgeonly' type fans probably think pre match entertainment is unnecessary but am sure most of our fans enjoyed it! The wider fanbase includes children alongside adults who don't have a need for alcohol or drugs...

Brilliant, other clubs have been doing this for ages, glad we are now catching up with them. Hope to see more of the light show.

The one at man city is great, images of each player cast on to the pitch, good for the kids as a build up

I think dim the lights as they walked out and having the LED boards on the stands pulsing claret and blue would make it good to walked out to - only on the night matches wouldn't work in daylight but would make the ground seem very on top of the opposition immediately.

TBF if you were epileptic you’d have been stuffed going on the turf since 2009. Those electronic advert boards in the early days were awful. I had to close my eyes at the go daddy advert.

I thought it was good, but didn’t last long enough. Would’ve been better had they did it just before the players came out of the tunnel along with the build up music.

If we find our own music like the Chicago Bulls used when Jordan was at the height of his powers in the last dance......combined with appropriate use of the lights then that'd be amazing. Don't think the announcer would be appropriate though

Re: Mini light show pre-match
I wasn’t at the game to see the show but this was something I put in the feedback to the club recently as a suggestion so feel free to blame me if that’s the case I went to the sheff wed Newcastle FA cup game a few weeks back and Wednesday did this just before the players came out. It was very theatrical but the fans bought into it and it got the atmosphere going. Personally I liked it but appreciate not everyone will. Shame I missed it.

I've asked for a pie cannon that shoots Haffner's cheese and onion pies into the stands from the center spot.

A pie isn’t going to withstand the force that will be required to get it from the centre spot into any of the stands. It’s no wonder the club have ignored your idea, you just haven’t thought it through!MancunianClaret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 1:12 pmI've asked for a pie cannon that shoots Haffner's cheese and onion pies into the stands from the center spot.

I assume you got to watch a football match though didn't you, without a light show encroaching on the 90 plus minutes, so I really don't see what the issue is? How did it impact on your ability to watch a football match?fidelcastro wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 12:23 pmFair point, call me old fashioned, but I go to football matches to watch football, and not to watch a lights show, fireworks display or any American influenced rubbish.
My 12-year old son thought it was great, albeit he said it was odd that it finished some time before the players walked out and as has been suggested - that is more likely the target audience. The fact he enjoyed it makes me happy and I find it amazing that people will moan about literally everything.

Oh, it would of course need some sort of protective vessel, perhaps made from something cheap and strong - aluminum foil perhaps? Ensuring the pies are launched horizontally with some spin should allow them to fly in a gentle arc, much like a frisbee, thereby reducing any damage in transit.
Alternatively they could just use the Holland's pies they sell on the concourse, you could launch them bastards into orbit and back again and they'd look much the same.

Re: Mini light show pre-match
I wasn’t there last night so didn’t witness it. It’s not my cup of tea but it’s not aimed at me. Someone mentioned Bertie Bee further up the thread, that’s not aimed at me either.
I go for the football. I much preferred it when the two teams came out separately rather than what we have now but surely everyone has to understand that everything done at a football ground has to be inclusive for everyone.
I don’t use the fanzone but I don’t expect that to be shut down either.
If you don’t like something then ignore it or get out of the way and leave it to those who do enjoy it.
There are things that seriously frustrate me at our football club but this is definitely not going to be added to that list. If people like it, people enjoy it, then do it.

Would just like to say I think it’s fantastic that the club are trying these things.
As CT says, it won’t be for everyone, but I like that we’re evolving and trying things that likely appeal to younger fans to give a more immersive experience.
Not to be greedy, but I’d just like a walk out song that gets everyone singing & flags that you see in European games now.

What a sad, sick individual you must be to make a comment like that.
I attended two funerals last week, two old friends who had at least had long lives even though both had been blighted with illness in their closing years. Funerals are not fun, they are about paying respect, something that seems to fall some way short of your capabilities based on your comments on this thread.
