Ticket office and club shop closed
Just headed down to the Turf to exchange a ticket for tomorrow only to find on arrival that the whole club is closed today for a funeral.
Whilst I accept that this is a nice gesture and fully support the closure it is a little annoying that the club couldn't update the opening hours on the website or at least put a notice on the tickets page to state the closure.
Sometimes it is the little things that make the difference with customer engagement / communication. Looks like I will have to head back down in the morning but just thought I would post on here in case anyone else was thinking of going the club shop before 5.

I nearly went down but luckily saw somewhere that it was closed, maybe on Facebook. These days the club just assumes everybody is on social media, which obviously isn't the case.

It was posted on all social media channels, as well as on the club's website.

I have seen it now. It is halfway down the newsfeed which explains why I never saw it originally as I went directly to the ticket office page. Still think they should have at least updated the opening hours to reflect this.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 4:49 pmThis was on the official site, posted yesterday I think.

Hopefully nobody else has the same issue.

To be fair would that have even made a difference on this occasion? Did you actually check it was open before hand, most people would just get caught out - it's just one of those things, nothing to really get upset about.

Hardly upset just mildly annoyed that having checked the opening times (as I had already stated if you read the OP) that it said they were open until 4 when they were closed.CardyTheClaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 7:18 pmTo be fair would that have even made a difference on this occasion? Again as I said in the OP I put it on here incase anyone else was thinking of going not for people to use as another excuse to try and start an argument.
Re: Ticket office and club shop closed
Without wishing to appear uncaring about people paying their respects to the deceased, surely the club could have found a couple of employees from other departments to staff the club shop whilst the staff were attending the funeral?
Additionally, how many funerals if local last all day? Personally I think this is poor from BFC. I will batten the hatches down now!

Well no, emails aren’t social media. I think an email to every Burnley supporter notifying them that the club shop is closed for an afternoon is slightly overkill though.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 9:08 pmAs a customer, ST holder, shopper etc, they do send me emails about all sorts of other stuff on a regular basis.
Personally I don't really class emails as being social media

Re: Ticket office and club shop closed
I've received a lot of emails from the club that personally I would consider to be far less useful tbh, and I would imagine it's fairly easy for them to send a message to all contacts.

Re: Ticket office and club shop closed
You didn't say you'd checked - but the point I was trying to make is that the club could have sent and email out, updated their Google opening hours, updated there website site hours AND updated their social media posts AND still most people would have just turned up because they would just (rightly) expect it to be open. It's just one of those things.Goobs wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 7:57 pmHardly upset just mildly annoyed that having checked the opening times (as I had already stated if you read the OP) that it said they were open until 4 when they were closed.

Re: Ticket office and club shop closed
I went down to pick my Blackpool tickets up, assuming the ticket office would be open the day before a game. I didn’t check.
No drama, I’ll nip down again next week.
