KEVIN MACDONALD
May have been mentioned already but Kevin MacDonald scored today for Exeter-his first in 5 years. I know he blotted his copy book with us, but he could easily have gone on the scrap heap earlier. Instead he went on to make a career at Sheff Utd, Wolves and Fulham, and recently recovered from a kidney transplant. A player who had undoubted skills and potential when Coyle signed him

Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
Forged himself a half decent career.
Great to see him return to football after such a serious illness.

Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
Never blotted his copybook with me, a small incident blown out of proportion by people 'in the know' as usual knowing nothing.

Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
I thought he was a fantastic footballer who just lost his way a little.

Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
We should have kept him.
He was excellent at Fulham and Wolves who both saw the best of him.
We saw glimpses of his quality but he was only young and developing.
Pleased for him scoring today

Remember a game he was unbelievable. Arsenal maybe? Looked like he was going to go on and have an amazing career

Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
I think it might have been against Arsenal in the League Cup when we had that run to the Semi-Finals in our promotion season (2008/09). He was sensational that night.

Yeah that rings a bell. Fantastic that night.Cheshireclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 9:33 pmI think it might have been against Arsenal in the League Cup when we had that run to the Semi-Finals in our promotion season (2008/09). He was sensational that night.
Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
I think he scored two goals against Arsenal that evening. Capital punishment.
Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
He was a colossus. Just didn't see the best of his quality and power.
Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
Always felt there was a very good player there who we never saw enough of. Glad to see him still playing and good luck to him

Had a few beers with him and his family when he was at Fulham, great lad, just not your usual professional which is just life

Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
Great to see KM on the scoresheet again, and it's just incredible that he's still able to play at a decent level after his well mentioned health scare.

Re: KEVIN MACDONALD
Easy to forget KM forged himself a very decent career at champ level, and to resume playing after a transplant ( thus having a massively suppressed immune system) is a suberb feat.
