Rovers in the Quarters or the Semis?

Post by Milltown1882 » Tue Feb 28, 2023 9:56 pm

So suddenly the FA Cup has got very interesting.

Would you rather face the old enemy in the Quarters or down Wembley Way? It could be very real soon!

Wembley would be carnage and great in equal proportions.

Let’s get past Fleetwood first. After that, semis for me just for the ‘uniqueness’ of the event, and to see how the OB manage to police it!

Fleetwood to beat first before we can contemplate who we'll draw in the quarter's of semi's.

Hopefully United away doesn’t become our new fun thing in the cup.

I suspect we will win tomorrow night.

I also suspect we will get them in the Quarters. I suspect we will win that also.

Hope you're correct to beat them 3 times in a season would just top off an incredible start for VK.

Quarters for me, please.

Don’t fancy trying to keep you lot apart on Wembley Way.

Focus has to be on tomorrow before we get ahead of ourselves

If we were to play Rovers at Wembley in a cup semi final or even final I'd hope a shared sense of occasion between two proper clubs might overcome the hostile edge

Or is that just naive

Still think Vincent is destined to go head to head with Pep this season

I agree we have to focus on Fleetwood. But I bet senior police officers are on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

If the semis, one lot would be sent down the m1 the other lot down the M40. Standard procedure for teams from the north, so avoids a lot of chaos on service stations

If we drew them at home. , they would have the whole of the cricket field stand.

It would be havoc if it was the semis. Trains, service stations, hotels, Wembley Way...

It will never happen as they would fix the draw to keep us apart using a cold and hot ball 😂 but honestly I would love to draw them in the quarter finals or beyond but first a small matter of getting past Fleetwood which won't be easy. UTC 👍

Semis would be epic, but I think we would need to draw them in the 1/4s to have any chance of playing them in the cup.

We should beat Fleetwood but can’t expect to just roll them over if we are not on our game. I think we will be. Serious progression in the cup could happen with the teams left

IF we get through, you know it will be city. It will be a media frenzy over pep and vinny.
As long as its down turf I'd give us a little chance... but would definitely want to avoid them

Draw is after the Sheffield game this evening.

I'd prefer it if we played them at home in the Quarters, should we get through.

I may be deluded, but I consider us to be the best team outside the Premier league by a long way. Therefore I think we could beat any non prem team home or away with a fully fit motivated squad. Blackburn in the QF would give us the best chance of a Wembley SF place. Of course, there are no guarantees, we could lose to Fleetwood tonight, nothing is certain
