EE internet connection at Turf Moor
At the last couple of home games I have been unable to access any mobile data/internet at Turf Moor. I have been on EE for a long time and never used to have any issue. I could still send and receive texts. Has anyone else had any problems recently with EE connection? ps I am aware that the connection can be very slow at half time when lots of people are checking scores etc.

I can send and receive texts but nothing more.
Unless I pre-load it away the ground, I can't even access the BFC official app, so no team news etc.
Strangely I do receive notifications such as kick off and goals scored.
Been like that this season and last.

Am on BT Mobile and exactly the same ...
Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
We live in Cliviger ,and they need to repair a mast ,but the farmer won’t let them on the land, spoke to EE ,and suggested they weren’t honouring the contract ,but they said set your iPad up when your at home ,but also said they never promise the guarantee a signal, wife has bought her phone ,so only has a sim with EE ,so no contract, and they’re refunding a couple of months payments, can’t weigh it up ,they also look to be putting a mast behind the 14th tee at Towneley, might be being thick ,but surely each provider won’t all have their own masts ,so why does EE have a problem, also filled in the BFC survey, and suggested that they improve their wi-fi ,but I don’t know if it will happen.

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
I thought 4G was poor with being an O2/iPhone thing; it used to be as quick as Wifi and accessible almost everywhere. I've noticed it showing down and having poorer coverage in recent years.
I went to Vienna recently, it was like having Wifi again. It worked everywhere. Its a UK thing.

Used to be able to get some limited connection with BT at the Turf. It’s been zero this season.

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
Last two games I've had no data connection at all in the stand.
I normally sit in longside upper and get crap connection. Had really good, fast connection when I sat in lower tier for one game earlier int season. Wonder if its the roof causing the problem?
Either way, I do laugh when they make announcements about using the BFC or Kick it Out apps over the tannoy. Can't even load Google.

It's probably time they did something to fix this issue, it's 2023, not 2003...

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
I cancelled my contract early with them because of their awful signal. Get within a mile of any football stadium it was gone. Went to watch Salford vs Carlisle during the World Cup and it didn’t work. That was the final straw. Signed up to ID mobile instead which is ok. My wife’s on Vodafone though and she gets internet during the game but it dips at half time.Beagleheart wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 5:17 pmI’m on O2 and the reception is awful in Burnley as a whole and doesn’t exist at Turf Moor.
Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
I’ve not been able get online (EE) at all from parking at Brownhill Avenue (usually around 14:00) until part way up Brunshaw, after the game. This has been the case for the last couple of games.
I’d usually be able to get online without any issues, barring five minutes either side of and during half time.
There’s definitely an issue with EE around that area. I assume there’s a different mast that I pick up as we are leaving.
I’d happily pay an addition on my season ticket to get WiFi at the ground, if this became an option in the future. I do like to check scores / scorers / bets during the game.
Is there 5G in Burnley?

The issue is the Cliviger site. I have been in contact with EE for a few days now and they tell me that work is underway.

It could very well be the amount of electrical activity inside the stadium and being in an ‘enclosed’ space?

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
EE is very intermittent around Worsthorne due to the issue of the mast mentioned above. I've given up to trying to use my phone anytime around the Turf on match days especially. I believe somebody tweeted the chairman recently to see if they could put the team news out on the neon signs outside the club shop

Met up with my Nephew in town, for the Coventry game. He sent me a Facebook messenger message at 13:30 - "I'm I Costa".... Got it at 17:10. All O2/Sky.

I go down to 3G on O2 while inside the Turf and I’m now the designated score checker for the people around me. Works a treat now hardly anybody uses the 3G network

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
Recently left EE because it was borderline impossible to get over one bar of 5G anywhere (no bars in my front room) and the phone pretty much lived on 3G/E. Switched to Vodafone and it couldn’t be more opposite.

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
o2 is awful in Burnley and surrounding areas for not just mobile data but also voicecalls. Will never be going with them again. Shame I have 2 years 4 months left with them.
Re EE - one of the lads on my team (we work in Burnley town centre) has been struggling for a couple of weeks, so contacted EE, who said there is a mast broken on top of a now disused hotel close to the town centre (thought possibly Keirby?) but EE can't contact anyone to get access to repair it. He complained and they have given him money off his bill, certainly at least 1 month free. The more they have to pay out the quicker they will find a solution!

I suppose the signal at the Turf will be fine when it's empty and there's not 20,000 people trying to get online all at once.

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
I wouldn’t mind as much if the club read the half time scores from all the 4 divisions and not just the championship. If they don’t read them at least show them
Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
I can use WhatsApp and once, in the 2nd half, the football scores were on the BBC page. That was it. Can't remember ever having any sort of service, near kick off, for miles around!

Re: EE internet connection at Turf Moor
It’s weird you say that as only last night I said the same thing. I’m on EE and was always jealous of two people sitting near me who could check scores during the game, as when I was on 3 it was impossible. Mine has been great for the past 2+ years, but the last 2-3 home games I can’t get a signal in the vicinity of the Turf. In fact, I have had to walk about 1/2 mile away to get a signal after the game.Whitgord wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 3:38 pmAt the last couple of home games I have been unable to access any mobile data/internet at Turf Moor.
