Spurs v AC Milan

Post by ElectroClaret » Wed Mar 08, 2023 8:20 pm

KO delayed due to heavy traffic in North London, apparently.
Spurs 0-1 down from first leg.

Not really expecting much from Tottenham, some poor performances lately.

Difficult to judge with Spuds being so variable. Been in pretty poor form domestically but enough good players to put in the odd very decent performance. I think they'll get a goal or two, not sure if their defence can keep a clean sheet but I think they may squeak through.

I'll go for Bayern Munich to edge past PSG. Dont care much for either of these teams which dominate their domestic leagues.

Meanwhile in Munich there’s detritus on the pitch.

Spurs going yet another season without a trophy.

Bayern ease through against moneybags PSG, who once again fail when faced with quality opposition.

Spurs fans seemingly want Conte out.

The football is absolutely dour, which, without results, as we know, isn’t a good watch.

10 minutes to 1-0 down at home and facing elimination from the Champions League and your manager has a brainwave, lets take off Kulusevski and bring on Sanchez.

Kane must regret so much not having the balls to see through leaving Spurs last summer, maybe this will be the motivation needed to grow a pair.

The longer he's not there, the better a manager he is, bit like when a player is injured long term

I'm not sure he's the answer tbh

Conte won't last long at Spurs, they were dire in their FA Cup exit at Sheff Utd, and by all accounts they weren't any better last night against a fairly average Milan outfit.

Hard to stress how poor Spurs were last night

Milan looked a hell of a lot better than they have in Serie A this season though

He's out of contract in the summer isn't he?
That's why the media bandwagon is waxing lyrical about Poch again.

He might not even last until the summer if reports are true.

For Sours all that's left is to finish top 4, and given their recent slump that's by no means certain.

Not sure whether Poch would be the answer, yes he led them to a CL final, however the wheels rapidly came off after that.

Conte seemed to be playing for a draw, bizarre.

That's exactly what it looked like- as if they'd won 1-0 away. The late sub of an attacking wide player by a defender backed up that view too. Conte has been recovering from surgery lately but it shouldn't have affected his decision-making to that extent.

Doubt he'll last to the end of the season now although Spurs are still spinning for 4th spot in EPL (if Liverpool keep up the form they showed last weekend that is doubtful though).

Big shiny stadium probably the best in Europe but an absolutely abysmal team and a manager that looks totally disinterested..the Premier leagues equivalent of Watford 😉
