Muric 9 - two excellent saves and dominant high claims
Roberts 8 - dynamic as ever
Ekdal 7 - won most battles, really sloppy back pass
Beyer 8 - classy again, so composed
Maatsen 8 - zippy
Cullen 9 - easy for him
Vitinho 7 - mixed bag, works hard
JBG 8 - another classy showing, some sublime passing
Tella 9* - when he’s on it, he’s on it, electric
Zaroury 9 - deserved a goal… stunning pass for the third
Barnes 7 - some nice one touch lay offs, should have scored

Foster 8 - looked sharp in and out of possession, brilliant finish
Cork 7 - kept it ticking over as always

78.5% possession, 27 shots, players interchanging all over the pitch, 3 goals, another enjoyable match at the Turf.

Wigan player gives him a little push just as he kicks it.
Not a great back pass, but he was magnificent again other than that one incident.
Edited to say Ekdal

That’s expected of the Wigan player

I’m just saying stuff like that is what changes games and that’s where we get stung at a higher level

- it’s the timing of it as well - could have been a disaster letting them back into the game at that moment

1 mistake makes his overall performance “below par”?

There was a few more but of something of that magnitude yeah it’s poor.

If Muric dropped a ball into the box he’d be getting pelters - no difference

Its all about opinions. Tella misplaces passes quite often but never scores that low. One missed pass while being fouled and he is a liabilty for us.
Fair enough

Never once said he’s a liability did I? So boring when people deliberately misappropriate points in bizarre point scoring efforts.

It’s about context of the game for me.

I don’t mind forwards that are constantly probing to give away passes, but stuff like that is really poor.

5 might have been a little harsh but in my view was a terrible error.

Agreed. It was a terrible error. Not point scoring. Also agree you were a little harsh. We all do it. Not trying to ruin your day pal. I know I have been hyper critical of some players in the past, Muric, for sure.
Muric was faultless today btw

Muric 8 Agree with an earlier poster best game he`s had for us
Roberts 6 Slows the game down to much for me and his weak passing will cost us certainly at the next level and possibly next week
Ekdal 7 One mistake but otherwise steady
Beyer 9 Say it every week, class, although I thought both CH`s struggled with in the air with their big lads
Maatsen 7 Glad to have him back
Cullen 8 Does so much unseen work linking play but his shooting is crap
Guðmundsson 8 Seems to be enjoying playing more centrally and certainly makes a difference
Vitinho 6 Seemed a bit off his game today, crossing left a bit to be desired
Tella 9 Perpetual motion from this lad, pace, energy, commitment he has it all, best loan signing I`ve seen at TM
Zaroury 7 Played okay but some of his crosses were poor by his own standards
Barnes 7 Linked play up well, brings other players into the game, should have scored in the 2nd half

Foster 7 Glad to see the lad score and I swear he looked a yard quicker after he scored it
Cork 7 Did nothing wrong and was unlucky not to score
Obefami 7 Bags of energy, looks hungry for the ball, I thinkhe could go on to be a good acquisition if we sign him.

Wigan came to kick us off the park but the red card just put a brake on their intent and it became a little more than a glorified training game, but even with everyone back we still found a way through, well done Clarets.

Muric 8 Very good today, commanding his box, two saves and barking out instructions and in the first half was the instigator of a high press.

Roberts 7 Passing a bit off today, not unduly tested defensively.

Ekdal 7 Got a little bit bullied today, but overall good at this level.

Beyer 8 calm, consistent and untroubled, could write that every week.

Maatsen 7 Good to see him back, drives the team forward.

Cullen 8 Cullen does what he does with the minimum of fuss, looks to easy for him at this level.

Vitinho 7 Better than last week, looks more comfortable further forward.

Tella 9 MoM two goals and a number of chances, really caused them problems.

JBG 8 Calm, assured like him in the middle

Zaroury 7 Couple of assists today, sound today

Barnes 7 Good link up today, not many chances but works really hard for the team.

Foster 7 Super pleased for him and a great finish

Cork 7 Easy game for him to come into and managed not to get booked.

Perfect really, Wigan tried to play, couldn't cope with us, went down to ten, missed a couple of chances to wake us up and then we scored right at the start of the 2nd half to finish it as a contest so we could rest just about everybody. And Foster got his debut goal, which will do him the world of good

Muric 8 - two good saves and some good claims
Roberts 8 - very good
Ekdal 6 - first sloppy game from him
Beyer 8 - usual beckenbeyer type performance
Maatsen 7 - good to have him back, like Roberts has become absolutely key to how we play
Vitinhio 7 - you have to like him, but there was a bit of quality missing today which is a shame because Wigan gave him all the space in the world
JBG 8 - really good in the middle - keep saying it, but a fit JBG is a huge bonus for us this season
Cullen 8 - just keeps us ticking over
Tella 9 - just too hot for them to handle
Barnes 7 -
Zaurory 8

Subs
Foster 7
Obafemi 7

Its done and dusted now isn't it

Been a marvellous and completely unexpected season and it will live long in the memory about just how good we are

A game played entirely in second gear, at best.

Muric - 8 - one slightly odd second half kick, but other than that very good indeed - and two terrific saves.

Roberts- 7 - not bad, but his passing was occasionally a bit ponderous.

Maatsen- 8 - great to have him back and he added an extra dimension to our possession play.

Ekdal - 6 - obvious mistake for the second big Wigan chance but generally he was a little outmuscled at times today, for the first time since he joined.

Beyer - 9 - very good in possession and basically untroubled defensively.

Cullen - 9 - playing so well these days and this was another top drawer exhibition of push and move football.

JBG - 8 - wasn't sure about playing him in that central midfield role but he was excellent and the skill for the first goal shouldn't be overlooked.

Vitinho - 6 - some nice moments but he looked like a full back playing out of position.

Zaroury- 8 - glorious ball in for the first goal, a threat through out, unlucky not to score with a snap shot against the post, and a lovely reverse pass for the third goal.

Tella - 9 - two proper poachers goals, full of running and drew the fouls for both yellows that caused the red.

Barnes - 7 - some sharp link up but should have scored.

Foster- 8 - neat and lively cameo, took his goal well and nearly manufactured another through a really impressive bit of skill.

Cork - 7 - fine and steady.

Really impressive once again without ever hitting our best form, and whilst declaring after 60 minutes. Great to get a goal for Foster.

Another excellent performance and great relief for the win to save my blushes as I live amongst a lot of disgruntled Latics fans.

Muric 8-One good save, one outstanding, and excellent general all round performance.
Roberts 7-Not his best of late but still solid.
Ekdal 7-Good apart from the back pass. He will learn not to get bullied in those situations and probably should have booted the ball into touch.
Beyer 8-Excellent as always.
Maatsen 7-Understandably a little rusty but he grew into the game.
Cullen 9-Another masterclass. How WHU must wish they still had him.
Gudmundsson 8- He's having a renaissance under VK, long may it continue.
Vitinho 6-Personally not sure about him although due credit he wasn't playing in his normal position.
Tella 9*-Two goals and a good all round performance. My MOM
Zaroury 8-Quickest feet i've seen since Ronaldo but he can be wasteful at times.
Barnes 7-Pity he missed that chance before he was taken off but his presence is essential.

Foster 7-Glad he got his goal and hope it helps his confidence.
Cork 7-I was surprised he didn't start, especially with Brownhill out but he was effective when he came on.

Another stroll in the park. What I will say is that Ekdal's back pass was slightly unfortunate as he got a slight nudge in the back, and I think he was worried about getting injured on the astroturf.

Yet another game where we had the cigar's out for most of it. And this is without Benson, Jay Rod, THB & Brownhill

I thought that was ekdal’s worst game for us since he joined and was quite sloppy in possession a few times.

Still if I was being harsh I’d give him a 6, which says how overall I rate him if that is his worst.

From tv
Muric 9 IanMcl even gave him an 8, so that's equal to a 10
Roberts 7 bit sloppy passing first half. Played much of the second half as an attacking midfielder...no wonder teams can't match us
Ekdal 7 he got a push in the back for the back pass, apart from that fine
Beyer 9 what a player he is, God knows what he will be like at his peak
Maatsen 8 great game
Vitihno 7 made some great runs when he cut inside
Cullen 9 everywhere in midfield
JBG 8 blossoming under VK
Zaroury 8 Leighton Jamesesque
Barnes 7 some good lay offs
Tella 9* a goal machine with incredible work rate
Foster 8 he could be a real surprise package
Obefami 7 another one to watch

Another fabulous performance, albeit against a poor team, plus we are improving every game.

I thought the Barnes chance was very well saved by the goalkeeper and not a formality.

I was impressed with Vitinho, his movement and positioning and goal threat but often things didn't work for him. If he got a run in the side in that position maybe he will blossom. I also thought that having Vitinho playing mostly on the right allowed Tella a lot of freedom to do as he wanted which made him so effective. Indeed we had Vitinho and Tella interchanging on the right and Zaroury and JBG doing the same on the left.
