Nathan Tella
Surely we have to sign him at all costs in the summer. Sensational player. This team is so exciting all over the park lately.

They won't sell if they come down, and they're currently bottom of the PL.
Guaranteed goalscorer in this league, they'll need that.

Think we’ve got a great chance if they come down. A lot of their fans seem to think he’s as good as gone.

I think the one thing you can be sure of is that he will be in the Premier League next season, one way or another.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 9:19 pmThey won't sell if they come down, and they're currently bottom of the PL.

15 million plus massive add ons when we stay up. Surely he’ll be doing everything in his and his agents power to force the move.
Side note I think his 2nd might have been an OG. Hope not

I worry that his pace won’t be anywhere near as much of an asset next season, however his finishing is absolutely superb and we’d be mad not to do our best to sign him.

This. Preventing him playing in the Premier League? I doubt they'd stop him coming to us if he wanted the move.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 9:48 pmPlayer power is massive, if they go down there is no way he stays with them

His speed is greater than the combined speed of Chris Wood & Jay Rod. Its the least of my worries, will be one of the quickest

Re: Nathan Tella
My point is that I’m not sure whether his pace, which is probably his biggest asset, will be anywhere near as effective in a league with quicker and sharper players. However, as I say, his finishing is superb and signing him would be a no brainer if we have the opportunity.warksclaret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 9:52 pmHis speed is greater than the combined speed of Chris Wood & Jay Rod. Re: Nathan Tella
I agree. I think there is every chance that Nathan will be desperate to stay with this squad after the season he has had.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 9:48 pmPlayer power is massive, if they go down there is no way he stays with them
Player power is everything nowadays and if Saints go down and we go up, with both outcomes looking increasingly likely, I’m sure we will do everything we can to agree a deal. The only question I have, is how much are we willing/able to pay for him?

Re: Nathan Tella
Some of the defences that will still be in prem this season, his pace will be frightening still
Re: Nathan Tella
Only the elite sides have quick defenders/midfielders and baring Van Djik I don’t think there’s a defender quick enough to catch him once he gets on the wrong side. Tella reminds me of Jamie Vardy from a few years ago.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 9:54 pmMy point is that I’m not sure whether his pace, which is probably his biggest asset, will be anywhere near as effective in a league with quicker and sharper players. Re: Nathan Tella
I’d love it if we were to sign him permanently in the summer, but I don’t think we will, unfortunately.
Re: Nathan Tella
Scored more himself than southampton have at home
Re: Nathan Tella
Our use of the loan market has been ridiculously good. Even Dervisoglu, who has only had limited chances, has contributed and looks like he could be a bloody decent player.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 10:12 pmThought he was the one we could probably not bother with, but he's been sensational
The success of our recruitment (loans and permanents, pretty much to a man) is staggering. It’s not that long ago that it seemed as though transfer windows were something that other teams did!
If we have a good window this summer, it’ll be worthy of its own episode on Myth Busters.

Re: Nathan Tella
May as well offer the straight £15M plus add ons.
Any of those are not worth the £5M difference.

Re: Nathan Tella
I understand why some people are suggesting he didn’t look top of our list until recently.
But the thing for me that has always had stardust are his quick feet and his finishing. When he gets a chance it often goes in. That’s a valuable commodity and it may do well in the Premier League.
I wouldn’t go past £15m but I would pay that.

Re: Nathan Tella
There is no way he’s playing in the Championship next season. If Southampton come down he will 100% force a move out, he’s got to get in the big league whilst his stock is this high. What if he stayed there and got an injury or for some reason didn’t suit the system etc? He will be getting out for sure if they’re relegated. Hopefully to us.

Re: Nathan Tella
Still beyond me that Southampton didn’t recall him in January and didn’t even bother to speak to him. There again it was Nathan Jones in charge at the time.
Wherever he plays his football next season, he’s earned himself the right to be playing in the Premier League.

Would be delighted if he became our record signing and it worth every penny. We moved on a bit from David Nugent being our main hope in the top flight.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 11:46 pmStill beyond me that Southampton didn’t recall him in January and didn’t even bother to speak to him. Shows the importance of contacts in the game, world wide contacts too. It's imperative to become a manager at the top imo.DCWat wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 10:20 pmOur use of the loan market has been ridiculously good. He will want to come surely. The fans love him, the manager loves him. We play better football than Southampton, he’s deserved his chance in the top league. Crazy how he may not get player of the year . What a squad we have. Dreamland atm . As I should be, to work soon ! UTC

Another thing is that if Southampton get relegated they might bring Tella back to play for them knowing that he can score goals in this division.

Re: Nathan Tella
There's absolutely no chance Tella will be playing in the Championship next season. Saints will hold out for the best price possible, but I'm sure they've accepted that he'll be away.
Re: Nathan Tella
Tella will obviously want to stay with Burnley and I'm sure he'll have some influence on the decision. If forced to stay at Southampton if they get relegated there's no guarantee an unhappy Tella will do the same for them. He also knows he might not get the game time if a bigger club comes in for him so he'll do everything possible to make a transfer to Burnley happen.

It's madness how some people would begrudge us paying £15 mill + for a player like Tella, given that we spent more on that clown Gibson...

Pace to burn and skill and can finish. Very rare commodities. Love watching this guy. But will we get him?
Another recruitment success, albeit on loan. Not all have been successfull so far but most have.

Re: Nathan Tella
Loan deals put players who are not getting games with their parent club in the shop window, some fail, others prosper as Tella has,he will have bigger fish than us after his services next season, and I'm thinking its very unlikely we will or would be willing to shell out what Southampton will want,I'm not all doom and gloom just being realistic, clubs, like Everton will be creaming themselves over the thought of signing a player like Tella.
