Big possibility the team we have in the Prem will be worse than our current team
and that will be a big tragedy.
Maatsen, Tella, Beyer and Harwood-Bellis could all be gone come next August. They are 4 of our best players, probably worth circa £20M each. I think Tella and Beyer are buyable, but Maatsen and Harwood-Bellis are not. If we buy the first two, the rest of our budge will basically be gone and we will still be weaker. Prem teams are also not allowed to loan out so many players next season either.

Steve I really don’t know why you are worrying about this as Putin will start a nuclear war before next season and we’ll all be dead.

You've forgotten to worry about the season ending injuries, the suspensions, and the dramatic and fatal collapse of one of the stands during a game.BurnleySteve_ wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 11:24 pmand that will be a big tragedy.

Re: Big possibility the team we have in the Prem will be worse than our current team
I think we will sign Tella and Bayer and get Harwood-Bellus on another loan. Not sure about Maatsen. He may get used at Chelsea
At the end of last season we were a relegated side and had lost some of our best players yet we managed to attract the talent that we’ve now got. We are now going up with a lot of points, confidence and a reputation for playing attractive football. I have no doubt Kompany will be able to sign even better players for the Prem
And I think Kompany will stay with us until the Man City job comes up

Just sit back and enjoy getting beaten 7-0 this Saturday safe in the knowledge that it will probably be 14-0 against the same opponents next season.

Can't beat a bit of negativity when were watching the best football ever played on the Turf and demolishing the division team by team. personally I think if we buy 1 or 2 of the loanees add a couple of players from VK's wanted list and we could play our way into the top 10.

Re: Big possibility the team we have in the Prem will be worse than our current team
The injury to THB has probably worked in our favour. We've got 2 excellent young centre backs in, and given his lack of game time in 2023, it is highly likely that City will be prepared to extend the loan.
He won't be seen as a major saleable asset by them this summer. They will probably want to keep him anyway, and so continuing his development here under VK would seem a perfect arrangement for all parties.
My feeling is that Maatsen will remain here also.

Blimey! we are waltzing away with the title and people are still so negative.
Let's just enjoy the climax of this amazing campaign, and see what business Kompany can conduct in the summer, he's not fared too badly in the market yet has he.

He's got a point, as those loan lads are the last four footballers in Europe. Also, who's going to want to come to us anyway, what with us being in the Premier League, playing great football and with a world famous manager?

So did I and couldn't see a problem. This situation is unusual for Burnley as we have known our destiny for some time now. Therefore planning ahead for the prem would have been very much under discussion. I don't know what the situation is with regards to buying the on loan players, I've read that Man City want to keep THB, maybe another loan could be done I hope that VK and the recruitment team have been looking for other alternatives. With regards to having a worse team in the prem, well, I suppose it's possible, but I very much doubt it

Spot on Notts ... why would anyone wish to come to us ......NottsClaret wrote:[/b]time=1679047852 user_id=318]

I agree with BurnleySteve, don't think we'll get anywhere near 100 points next season.

We will be stronger next season. VK will be with us for 3-4 seasons. I'm fully expecting us to give a few teams bloody noses next season.
Enjoy the ride
