Numbers and goals

Post by Pickles » Sun Mar 19, 2023 4:10 pm

Ellis Simms scored for Everton yesterday, wearing number 50. He's the highest-numbered player to score for Everton which made me think who has that 'honour' for Burnley. Has a player wearing a number higher than 45 (Obafemi) scored for Burnley?

Can we name a goal scorer for every number? Starting at 2 so... Alexander. 3... Harley... 4...

I have a distant memory of Harry Thomson scoring for the reserves. If that is correct that gives a No 1 scoring.

Perhaps CT will know!

Arfield 37 and Cork 42 both scored and I think Mee 36 did too. Great. Nothing higher than Obafemi 45 yet. Another others in the 30s and 40s?

Harry scored against Chorley at Victory Park in a 1-1 draw in the Lancashire Senior Cup during the 1965/6 season.
