Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
as I said elsewhere we could give give ten thousand tickets and say the game is being played at Plymouth and they would sell out, phenomenal supporters

They got totally 'Bensoned' in that second half.
Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
Population of Sunderland is about 4 times more than Burnley and bigger than Newcastle, why wouldn’t they sell out .

Totally agree. The media love in with how brilliant Newcastle and Sunderland fans are is a joke.
There's literally millions of people up in that area with a couple of decent football clubs to chose from..

Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
Proper fans are the Mackems, factor in geography and their following all over is ridiculous. I understand they are bigger than many teams in terms of population but their fans are incredible.

Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
Sunderland to Burnley is a 220 mile round trip. Further than Burnley to Wolverhampton, we pretty much had a row to ourselves at Wolves away last season. It’s easy to sing when you’re winning, great supporters.Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 4:05 pmTotally agree. The media love in with how brilliant Newcastle and Sunderland fans are is a joke.

Don’t do that it is pointless you will get nothing useful back, my girlfriends Dad who is a lovely guy won’t have anything red in his flat because he hates them that much. In my experience living in the middle of the 2 Cities they are the same fans just 1 wears red and white the other wears Black and white. 1 says howay the lads the other says haway the lads for example.

Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
City club with massive surrounding catchment areas sells 2200 tickets. Shock horror.
Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
Sunderland always have a good away support. Can’t undersatnd the negativity when they’ve sold out Should be great atmosphere.

Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
An odd thread really as anyone who knows anything about football knows that Sunderland would always, always sell out ! Great fans and will make it a top atmosphere. Hopefully another memorable Friday night along the lines of the WBA game.

Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
Couldn’t agree more. I always think they are a bit like us in that the football club dominates the place, it matters to them. They live and breathe their football club.mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 7:29 pmProper fans are the Mackems, factor in geography and their following all over is ridiculous. Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
I dont think that's true at all. Maybe in the city specific areas it'll be close, but Newcastle metropolitan region is much, much bigger. And there arent millions and millions of people within easy reach of the clubs. I think there's less than 2 million people in Northumberland, Tyne&Wear, and County Durham. And that is a massive area. In fact, the area around Sunderland is pretty remote, with only a small number of towns of any decent population, and most of those are closer to other clubs ie Newcastle, Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough
Sunderland are just a wonderfully supported club. And well done to them
Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
Well done for supporting their local team , why’s that then ?Roosterbooster wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 6:23 pmI dont think that's true at all. Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
No wonder they sold out, would do anything to get out of Sunderland for the day. A bit like Burnley, just slightly bigger.
Re: Sunderland have sold all their tickets.
Sunderlands Metro area population is around 370k so i would say that is quite a good catchment area for fansRoosterbooster wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 6:23 pmI dont think that's true at all.
