Cavtat is worth a visit. Personally found a day in Dubrovnik long enough.

If you went to Cavtat, I would go to Dubrovnik on a boat from there.
Have stayed in Cavat twice, went on a coach trip to Budvar and Kotor.

Budvar's great fun, as long as you don't mind constant Serbian Turbo Folk I'm with NickBFC on Dubrovnik. I find things a bit more friendly the further north you go in Croatia. That said, that entire stretch of the Adriatic coast is beautiful and you're almost guaranteed decent weather that time of year

Make Kotor an absolute must see. City walls going off into the mountains are reminiscent of the great wall of China.
There's some fab restaurants/bars overlooking the harbour in Budva which are well worth checking out.
It's supposed to be a "party" town although I can't attest to that (thankfully ) as I was only passing through

Also, be sure to take a trip to St George's island
https://mymontenegro.org/eng/attraction ... ges-island
There's a rising boat service to take you across to the island. They'll ask how long you want to spend there before they row back across to come and get you off. About 40/45 minutes is the right length of time.

Well had it booked just before covid ............. Now lost out £££££ and never feel like going there again .
Re: Montenegro - Budva
Just keep your fingers crossed that there isn't a cruise ship visiting Dubrovnik when you do!
Re: Montenegro - Budva
i’v been researching and i’m up for paragliding, river rafting and there’s a zip wire over the canyon, i’ll poop myself but looks good fun!

Zip wires over heights might not be the high octane experience you're expecting. A bit like parasailing in that you don't really feel like you're going very fast.

Budva old town is on a much smaller scale similar to Dubrovnik. But the latter is suffer full of cruise ship visitors all day long
If you are prepared to go on a full day trip try Durmitor National park , a stunning place with dramatic views on the way and return
Lake Skadar is a good shout too
If you are going to both Skadar and Durmitor then consider hiring a car, more flexible and cheaper than organised tours which I avoid throughout the world

If I remember rightly the canyon is spectacular as you drive South on the way back from Durmitor to Budva. It like Cheddar gorge but 20 times the size
I think there is a quicker route on way North but the canyon should not be missed
