Any fans on here? Very promising first episode for the final series.

Re: Succession
I'm midway through series 2 and loving it. The characters of the individual siblings are brilliantly written and played.

Re: Succession
I've never seen this as I dont think I have access to the channel(s) it's on.
I've seen some good reviews of it from people who's opinions I respect so would like to watch it.
The most recent teaser for me was an interview in The Telegraph last week with one of the main players (Sarah Snook) https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2023/03/ ... want-like/
She's Australian but there seem to be quite a few Brits involved off-screen (Brian Cox on screen of course).

It's written by Jesse Armstrong - one half of the Peep Show writers. There's a few little references to Peep Show tucked into the show if you pay close attention.LeadBelly wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:58 amI've never seen this as I dont think I have access to the channel(s) it's on.

Re: Succession
Love this show, bizarrely when I watched the first series I hated the fact that there was not one character that I liked.
After 3 series I still feel the same, yet it is actually vey compelling, the drama, skullduggery and the general couldn’t care less about anyone or anyones feelings, because the business is the most important thing.
You are sucked into a world that is beyond your imagination by the brilliant writing and acting. Sad and glad it’s the final series.

Re: Succession
Just little things like at one point a (very minor) character called Stefan Strauss appears and the production company being called Project Zeus. Little nods to the Heads out there.

Re: Succession
One of the finest series of the last 10 yrs IMO . Tom and Greg are pure comedy gold . Series 3 suffered a bit with the “ covid “ episodes restrictions but rallied well . One thing I missed in series 3 was the toning down of the occasional ribbing of Connor over his GF ( ex prossie ) They smoothed out the money grubbing bimbo aspect which was well acted and very funny . Glad they’re gonna wrap after 4 as impossible to maintain such quality .

Re: Succession
Incredibly good. Loved Sky for the last series getting a group of musicians to set up outside the BBC headquarters and play the theme tune over and over for hours.
As said above it is weird how there isn’t a single likeable character in it, but better for it.
I find them all very needy, even Logan, who constantly acts like a bully and egotist but secretly needs his kids approval more than anything else. I do wonder if all billionaire families are like this through a grotesque sense of entitlement and what excess money does to human nature (I’ll never find out )?

Best written show on TV by miles.
Re: Succession
The latest episode (s4e3) could possibly be the greatest episode of TV ever.

Re: Succession
Did anyone else expect the camera to pan to Logan with a smirk on his face listening to his kids on the phone? Or am i just evil?

I’ll hold my hand up, I was totally expecting that to be a staged death.

Re: Succession
Me too. Judging by social media almost everyone did. Thought he was going to somehow play it for sympathy to get the vote he needs. Nope. What is it with HBO and weddings?
Shiv's phone call broke me, Kendall was ice cold with that line, "let's be careful not to do anything that might restrict our future ability to move freely." Logan would've loved that.
Google "succession season 4 poster" if you've got a sec. I thought it was supposed to be a balcony, but look at it again. Then look at the top right of the poster. It's all there.
