Strong possibility of going down and the owner doesn’t want to spend any more. Going to go with ‘no’.

Surprised he’s lasted as long as he has. Genuinely think it’s because they didn’t want to pay him off. Seems all is not well there.

Who are they going to get for a rescue mission in their current position at this stage? There isn’t anyone obvious out of work (I found the sacking of Vieira weird but at least Hodgson is the type you’d want in that situation).

Would they look at Allardyce I wonder till the summer?

Mutually agreed like other phrases that are used all mean the same thing in reality as this earlier today clealy demonstrates

https://twitter.com/TheAthleticFC/statu ... G2isstAAAA
"The manager has "left their post", "parted company" or "departed".

Football clubs never say they have sacked their manager.

But all of these phrases amount to same thing: you're fired.

@mjshrimper on the minutiae phrases in the modern game..."

Conte left Tottenham by ‘mutual agreement’ – what’s the difference between that and being sacked?

I thought it was lack of finance that kept him there early season

I think as well the Leicester owner seems quite a decent person and not had a reputation of being trigger happy in sacking managers. After a decent job (prior to this season) that Rodgers has done there, probably kept holding on hoping the good performances/results will return but gladly they did not.

No doubt Rodgers will turn up at West Ham or Spurs over the summer (if West Ham survive).

Would not be at all surprised to see Leicester relegated. They seem miles away from the happy campers club of a couple of years ago. The fox horn may well soon be playing the last post.

Would be interest to see what King Power would do then. There’s no money left now and Rodgers has had to work with little finance.

With all due respect, they didn't give the PEOPLE'S HERP Ranieri much time the season after the title. Puel got two years. Rodgers has it's true as benefitted from far more lenience.

This sacking has been on the cards for a while now, Leicester did show signs of improvement post the World Cup, however in recent games they've been shocking, and something had to change to give them hope of survival.

They need someone who will play the same/similar style as 10 games won't be enough to change it too much.

It's lasted that long because they wanted to do everything possible to avoid paying him out, if the fans hadn't turned yesterday & mateta missed I reckon he would have still been in a job today & hanging on.

I would say also to be fair the Ranieri and Puel sackings were by his father before he passed away. The current owner, Top, this is the first manager he has fired.

My family are season ticket holders (sorry to say) and they are ecstatic. The atmosphere at King Power since the World Cup has been absolutely dire-I have been to half a dozen games this year. I think SD would have been perfect for them as they have been shambolic in defence. Rodgers has had a falling out with Soyuncu and Vestergard both international centre halves and frozen them out-they are being paid but not been in the squad. Vestergard has been banned from training. I think the owners son is more passive than his late father, and my son who sees them home and away feels he would have sacked Rodgers in November had he still been alive. I hope they stay up as its the first fixture I look for each season

I think if Middlesborough do not get promotion Carrick will be a very sought after manager in Summer

his face is too big for his head and when he lost that weight it became even more obvious.

i would be interested to see some statistics regarding size of face:size of head to see if there are any correlations.

btw just watching the snooker and shaun murphy is doing quite well despite having a face that is very much too small for his head.

perhaps him and rodgers could team up and become some sort of sporting dream team.

This short summary from Sunday Times reporter Jonathan Norcroft on Rodgers leaving made me think of a similar situation & certain someone a year ago...

'Rodgers will go down as one of Leicester's best managers, but the last 18 months were disastrous. Not just results but recruitment and running down the value/usefulness of some v good players. He'll do well somewhere else but leaves with a strange legacy - and the club in a state'

Everton were huge when I first started watching football, one of the healthiest financially with the backing of the pools company. Even in the early 90s they were one of the big five that forced in the Premier League.

Leicester have had a superb few years but we’re always a bit of a yo-yo club. Amazing to believe now that twelve years ago they were playing in League One.

Dont think there is any chance of this happening. He has also refused at least one move with Fulham wanting him a year ago. I think Schmeikel may have influenced his signing as they both played in the same national team. A few have been frozen out by Rodgers which suggests he has an issue managing certain players

No surprise there.
Rodgers has forgotten how to manage, just like SD last few seasons.
Yes, Leicester have no money, but they had players that could have been traded to freshen things up.
Agree the son isn't as interested as his dad. Be interesting to watch if they get relegated.
