Let's hope so. They've gone from oligarchy club to comedy club.

Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
Be bonkers if he ended up back at Chelsea, he failed 1st time around, and then took Everton to the brink of relegation before they got rid.

At least we'll be able to laugh at his World Cup winning, fist-pumping celebrations if they get something this Saturday at Wolves.

Can't see it myself in tuchel & potter they have sacked better managers, he might go back in some capacity but it won't be any 1st team managerial position.

Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
They might take him back as a stopgap till the end of the season, not much really to lose if they do that, then take stock and appoint someone new full time.
Can't see him being the long term boss.

Viera being touted for Forest. Lampard would only be short term until season end.

I thought Todd was going to manage the team.

You only have to see the difference SD has made at Everton to see what a poor manager Frank Lampard is.

This Boehly and Co sound absolutely clueless. If I was a Chelsea fan I’d be very worried.
Obvious they need a striker why can’t they see it.

Astonishing decision to take him back. I can only assume they’ve got the next man lined up for the summer.

I take it that Chelsea are mathematically safe then if Frank has got the gig. Just what was the point of potting Potter when they did, to then do this? Incredible decision.

It is amazing isn't it. Those in charge spend over £600m and fail to buy a striker and yet you rarely hear of the people in charge of recruitment getting sacked. Always the manager who carries the can.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 2:39 pmThis Boehly and Co sound absolutely clueless. If I was a Chelsea fan I’d be very worried.

Did a decent job first time round and a good job at derby. Think he can only be an improvement on the last two!
Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
Nothing to lose, just gives them more time to make the right decision for the permanent job. Did a decent job the first go around.

Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
Ask any fans and boards, probably, of the other 91 league clubs if they would swap their current boss for Frank Lampard. That would give you the answer as to whether he is good enough for a big 6 club. Pretty much no Prem club would swap and most of the championship for a start. Incredible decision.
Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
Nailed on to be unbeaten until the end of the season. Employ him full time, spend another £500m and sacked in October

Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
A comment from Michael Keane stood out for me last week.
He mentioned that Lampard was a good person but when asked what else he could do to get in the side the answer was
“At your age, I’m not going to tell you what to improve, what you should work on. You just need to keep going and see what happens”

Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
I'm not writing lampard off as a manager yet. I like him a lot, seems a decent bloke and very bright. He just got a big job far too soon, though I think he did fine with young kids at Chelsea first time around. Not a mad decision, he can't do much worse than potter, and it gives Chelsea a bit of time. Lampard needs to ultimately go back to the championship I think for more experience. But I think he'll get there.
Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
nowt to play for, nowt to lose, give themselves more time to pick the right permanent manager. I'm surprised others are surprised
Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
How have you figured that out?
It’s been reported Luis Enrique is in London to have talks with them and that they’ve been in contact with Julien Nagelsmann.

Re: Lampard back to Chelsea?
Hmm! Frank takes the reins and Chelsea still draw a blank, it's almost like they need to sign a striker isn't it.
