Let’s not get too carried away with Mikautadze, yes his goal record seems good, but Metz are in Ligue 2.

Zaroury not been linked to both Juventus and Dortmund since joining us in the summer . One good season with us next year and the fee for him could be enormous .
Re: Busy Burnley - Transfer Dealings
Zaroury's potential is huge. Can genuinely see him playing Champions League.

Bellingham went from the second tier to Dortmund no problem. They are also looking at Zaroury apparently . You can play at a lower level for a period and be a good player

Does this make it more likely that Maatsen will be let go if they can get the right price for him?

The way I see it clarethomer, they have Chilwell and Cucurella ahead of him & he has one year left on his contract.clarethomer wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 10:06 amDoes this make it more likely that Maatsen will be let go if they can get the right price for him?

He’d be mad to want to go and sit on a bench and Chelsea would be mad not to sell him before he leaves on a free.

He's basically cost Chelsea nothing. They are getting loan fees and could easily do the same thing next season.

Quite possibly, but I wouldn’t be for him joining us again on loan, unless he had an agreement with VK to join on a free the following summer.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 12:21 pmHe's basically cost Chelsea nothing. Re: Busy Burnley - Transfer Dealings
Not sure why we'd bother. Beyer has to be a priority, Ekdal is fantastic and hasn't put a foot wrong, deserves his chance, and THB will almost certainly be back on loan. Don't see how Collins fits in unless we switch to a back 3 and want the cover, as Al Dakhil is a bit raw.claret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 9:29 pmDon’t be surprised to see Collins back in a Burnley shirt next season.

I hope we can sign Beyer, THB on another season's loan, plus Ekdal and Al Dakhil. CBs sorted.
The only question here is what happens to McNally.

Nothing that new here but Pete O'Rourke reporting we are looking to sign Tella permanently with talks underway and Maatsen, either on loan or permanent:

I can see many bigger premier league clubs than us going for Gyorkeres, simply because the shortage of actual scoring strikers in their sides
I suspect his great season puts him out of our price range

Great to see us making early moves in the market even if it just securing our existing squad.RVclaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 8:16 amNothing that new here but Pete O'Rourke reporting we are looking to sign Tella permanently with talks underway and Maatsen, either on loan or permanent:

This caught my eye in the article.
Kompany will have a significant war chest to spend in the summer window following Burnley’s promotion, with a deal for Tella a top priority.
Sounds like we will be active in the window once more.

He's got time on his side. A bigger club might have him on the bench, or loaned back to the championship.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 9:33 amI can see many bigger premier league clubs than us going for Gyorkeres, simply because the shortage of actual scoring strikers in their sides

If VK can convince him that he is our main striker, allied to the style of football we play, we might have a chance. Slim, but a chance.
Re: Busy Burnley - Transfer Dealings
I don't think that it's unreasonable for people to raise concerns about the transfer ban. Whilst I very much hope that AP is right and that it will be resolved, failure to file accounts is a clear warning flag about the running of any company. Filed accounts are a very basic obligation of any company and it's hard to see why they have not been filed quickly after a change of accountant. It suggests that there is possibly disagreement about the accounts and their interpretation, possibly in relation to the treatment of debt and loans, but who knows? Time will tell. It's best to remain optimistic, but with a note of caution!

I think Lopetegui has an idea or two about what a world class player looks like - but alas has chosen to play a 32yr old Craig Dawson ahead of Collins.
I think that speaks volumes

It's the word 'potentially' which is the important word there.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 11:38 amI think Lopetegui has an idea or two about what a world class player looks like - but alas has chosen to play a 36yr old Craig Dawson ahead of Collins.

There are a lot more potentially world class players out there than there are genuine world class players. And of those world class players, most of them will know what it's like to be dropped in their lives.

I think saying Collins is ‘potentially’ world class is a wild, wild statement and nothing he’s done in his career to date would warrant such a statement.Rowls wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 11:40 amIt's the word 'potentially' which is the important word there.

Re: Busy Burnley - Transfer Dealings
It's all about opinions. I'd reply that you've only got to watch his goal for Ireland to see what the lad is capable of. If you can coach him to perform more like that and coach him out of his rash challenges and stupid handballs etc then he's got a LOT of potential.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 11:45 amI think saying Collins is ‘potentially’ world class is a wild, wild statement and nothing he’s done in his career to date would warrant such a statement.

Could be a lot better player in our system, and under VKs guidance. I would have him back, but I can't see them taking a loss, and we can't afford what we sold him for.

Re: Busy Burnley - Transfer Dealings
The business model isn't to sell at a profit, it is to sell at a player's maximum price so I would say in January at the earliest for a first team player, maybe at a profit for a squad player. Hopefully a few players will be signing new contracts over the next 18 months so that any sales will show a similar increase in value to the selling club.
Re: Busy Burnley - Transfer Dealings
Zaroury hasn't really delivered for a while. I've no idea if there is a reason for this that can be solved - not used to work levels of the Championship; carrying some minor injury..... He showed he has potential but will that potential be realised in The Premier League?

More reports on Kent today from rangers, can’t believe I’m seeing people turn their nose up at the possibility, playing at a massive club with constant pressure, European experience, English 26 year old and on a free transfer, would be a straight replacement for churlinov without spending any money

Re: Busy Burnley - Transfer Dealings
The translated article:
‘From well-informed sources close to island football, we learn that Burnley is preparing an offer for Dinamo's midfielder and Croatian national team player Luka Ivanušec in the amount of 12 million euros!
Burnley is the leading team in the Championship, ten points ahead of second-placed Sheffield United, and eighteen points ahead of third-placed Luton Town, and they have already secured their return to the Premiership. As we stated in the introduction, the official offer to the Maksimir address has not arrived yet, but our sources say that communication between the two clubs has been established, and that this summer transfer is quite certain.
Of course, nothing can be claimed in advance, because it is quite clear that reversals in transfer affairs are a completely normal phenomenon, but our informants say that everything could really be resolved, even at the very beginning of the summer market. Given that the same sources once informed us about the transfer of Mislav Oršić to Southampton, we have the right to believe in their credibility.
According to them, Ivanušec is the great desire of Burnley coach Vincent Kompany, the highest paid coach in the Championship, who arrived at the club last summer from Anderlecht, otherwise a great former footballer, Belgian national team player who played the most matches for Manchester City. Kompany is already preparing the Burnley team for next season in the Premiership, and Ivanušec is one of his first picks.‘
