If he's leaving couldn't possibly have done so on a better note. A true Claret.

Re: Barnes
A true cult hero.
It’s not just what he’s done as a player this season - he’s been a proper leader of men.
He looks properly emotional.

So pleased for Ash
If he is leaving us and I think it is probably right but Ash is leaving on a high having bounced back from poor performances to some magnificent play this season
A great servant for us

Do you remember when we signed him and Granada Reports kept showing the
fantastic 30 yard stunner, can't remember who he scored against.

I reckon there will be a fairly sizeable lump in my throat at the end of the Cardiff game when he gets his send off. One of the very best in my lifetime for what he has given us.

Let's hope he gets a few more at Deadwood.
Be a great way to sign off to rub it in against that lot.

It’s very, very rare we actually get to give a player a proposer send off….I can only imagine the Cardiff game will be special

Sign him on. Still much to contribute.

I think it’s time for a statue of Barnes in the centre of the junction where Harry Potts way meets Tod Rd

Re: Barnes
Couldnt agree more. Shows up other “professionals” for the charlatans they are.
Absolute monster of a player. Always gave what he had to the cause, proper Burnley legend. I’ll be honest, I thought he was a spent force, but credit to VK, and massive credit to Ash that he’s made himself undroppable by working hard on his game and adapting so well to what we do now.
Wish him nothing but the best wherever he ends up. What a career he’s had with us. He owes us absolutely nothing.

Three promotions with Burnley. Not many can say that.
Top man.

Re: Barnes
I'm still hopeful he'll be given a contract as he's clearly so important and well thought of behind the scenes by the squad, but it's looking very unlikely. Put a bit of a dampener on the celebrations for me but I guess the manager knows best.

Re: Barnes
To have the emotional intelligence to leave on such a high this season, it does not get any better, cements his legend status and will be forever loved. Just one more task to score the winner at rovers, then build the statue

Re: Barnes
Ash Westwood is his good mate isn’t he - makes you wonder…?
Ash to go and conquer the States? They’d love him over there. Once he’s got his citizenship he’ll probably become Governer of a state.

Re: Barnes
When he was linked with Chelsea I said I’d drive him there myself. Since then I’ve praised him but more often than not dug him out. However this year since Blackburn he’s been immense and tonight he was exactly what we needed. Whilst I’ve often been frustrated by him I can hand on heart say he’s a clarets legend and deserves very bit of praise he’s been given….

For all my doubts at the start of the season he's had an excellent swan song to end on.
Get a couple more at Ewood, Ash, make it perfect.

Re: Barnes
Rovers aside...it was Bournemouth away where we saw the new tactical Barnes. He was brilliant that day and he's been brilliant since a revelation . He links play so well and his support for team mates superb.
Take a bow Ashley Barnes.

Re: Barnes
Cemented 'Burnley legend 'status for me with that performance against Blackburn on Remembrance Sunday.
Was a renaissance performance from Ash that day and he's looked a different and better player since (credit also due to the coaching staff for that)
I wish him nothing but the best for his future wether it's as a squad player for us next season or elsewhere.
