Brownhill & Thb.

Post by beddie » Tue Apr 11, 2023 11:27 am

Any update on Brownhill regarding what looked like a nasty fall, couldn’t see enough to work out exactly what happened. In regards to THB, was he taken off for tactical reasons or injured. Anyone know? Just hoping both are okay, especially Josh.

Connie said in the post match interview that it looked like Brownhill was not as bad as they feared, but would have to wait for confirmation. He seemed hopeful he had not done any serious damage. No mention of THB which suggests it was tactical.

Harwood Bellis wasn’t injured. He looked very cheesed off when subbed.

I noticed that. His body language was very negative when he took his seat on the bench.

Brownhill looked like he'd caught his studs in the astroturf as he did at Blackpool so hopefully it's not as bad as that injury. I presume THB was just management of his game time with him coming back from injury.

Josh looked ok at the end when he was celebrating in front of the Jimmy Mac - no protective boot or anything similar.

It said Vinnie when I typed it, I checked… as I always have to, weird autocorrect that one.

The fact that Brownhill sat down on the bench straight after suggests he will be fine, and THB is clearly coming back from a long lay off and might struggle to do 90 minutes

Very surprised that Ekdal didn't start yesterday, he's our strongest/most powerful centre half

Ekdal wasn't in the squad which suggests he's picked up a knock.

I read it more than he wanted Taylor for the potential to use him at left back if Sheff had started peppering the box, fair to say Sheff away was Maatsen’s worst game for us.

Another astroturf injury, something Kompany has been vocal about before. They've addressed the matting in front of the Longside which was a quick fix, but I fully expect us to replace the astroturf with turf over the summer.

THB had been booked first half. Took him off so he didn't get another yellow

I'd noticed the astroturf in front of the longside at the last game, but what I didn't notice until yesterday was that the "brick pits" had also gone

I've still no idea what their intended use was

The brick pits were to put TV cameras in

Thought that tbh but don’t think they’ve ever been used

In the post match interview VK said that the astroturf would be reviewed. Good.
