Tonight's football 11th April 2023

Post by Roosterbooster » Tue Apr 11, 2023 7:21 pm

I'm expecting a classic at the Etihad tonight

Bayern look like they've set up to play on the break
Pep gone with 4 CBs again, and no out and out wingers

Assuming I'm right and BBC isn't btw...

Glad you put this up, I'd forgotten all about it. I can get the TV on now, should be an interesting game. See if Haaland can keep his excellent scoring record going against a very good opponent.
I'd expect City to win tonight but it'll be very tight over two legs I think. Id expect Inter to win over two legs in the other tie.

Those four people in front of the Munich fans who seem to be directing the singing, do they not watch any of the game?

It’s what it’s like with German teams

Few years ago I went to watch Köln v Frankfurt
The Frankfurt fans sang constantly conducted by 2-3 fans at the front that were stood on the barrier at the front facing the fans

They think they’re Beethoven or James Last I reckon.

Have had it for years in some places. I remember watching a guy do that in deventer when ten haag was manager there.

How Grealish get away with wearing virtually nothing for shin pads?

Brilliant match. Both teams playing some top draw football. Grealish really upped his game lately, looks the part.

When City go through the gears they are quite something. They can do to anyone what they did to us.

3-0 to City, Bayern fallen apart in the past 10 mins, it should be more than 3.

Doesn't matter anyway in the grand scheme of things, the Champions League will be heading to Naples, Italy this season.

In the FA Cup semi final the highest winning margin was Newcastle United's 6–0 victory over Fulham in the 1908 Anfield semi-final. The highest post-war winning margin was Stoke City's 5–0 victory over Bolton Wanderers in the second 2011 semi-final on 17 April 2011.

I think City could be beating that v Sheff Utd.

Didn’t even know Cancelo had gone, but surprised he’s been allowed to play against his parent club.

Not a choice made by City, in UEFA competitions players can play against their parent clubs.

Brilliant performance by City. BM are no mugs but City contained their threats really well and put them under huge pressure with pressing and with the variation of their attacks.
Aki has come on a lot this season- looks very assured nowadays left of a back 3. Grealish also impressed with the ball/his pressing + when he defends- looks like he has a lot of full back experience (which he hasn't) the way he positions and cuts out the angles. As already mentioned Stones looked very good in his more roaming position. Tough job for BM to get back into this game now.

Outstanding performance again by City. Fair play to Bayern for giving it a go.
After 15 minutes I thought to myself "can you imagine being out there with them?". You'd be breathing through your aras and crying to be subbed off. What a pace they went at.

Pep will play a way below strength team and win 2-0

Whatever City team Pep selects it will surely be good enough to beat Sheff Utd with ease.

Even City's B team is a class above a lot of PL sides, let alone a top Championship outfit.

Not a single weak link when they perform like that
