With so many host nations, if we beat the Turkish bid, would all automatically qualify?
England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, out of 24 teams that is 5 qualified already.

The jocks would still try to do everything possible not to qualify even if they automatically didclaretburns wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 3:04 pmWith so many host nations, if we beat the Turkish bid, would all automatically qualify?

Bramley Moore Dock when it hasn 't been built yet ahead of both Anfield and Old Trafford amongst others? Would it be cynical to suggest that the revenues could help Everton get out of their FFP mess? Naughty me

Why do we need a joint bid with ROI? Having Scotland in is pushing it.
Re: Euro 2028 joint bid UK & ROI
Maybe the ROI want to host it but haven't got the stadiums so we are helping them out.Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 3:31 pmWhy do we need a joint bid with ROI? Having Scotland in is pushing it.

International tournaments being held across multiple countries seems a popular idea at the min, world cup in 2026 is across 3 in North America.Burnley Ace wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 5:32 pmWhy? I’m sure there’s lots of countries that would like to host it but haven’t got the stadium infrastructure. It’s less games in England and less revenue for England.

With the desire to include as many countries as possible in future World Cup tournaments (playing in as well as hosting) the prospect of them being hosted by a single nation is probably a thing of the past.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 5:41 pmInternational tournaments being held across multiple countries seems a popular idea at the min, world cup in 2026 is across 3 in North America.

Given the selling point is 'State of the Art' stadia, how come Villa Park?
Isn't Wolverhampton better than that, nowadays?

My thoughts exactly, bent over backwards to ensure it was built regardless of the dodgy funding.

There should be no question of England in particular being the host country.
The fans' behaviour at Wembley in 2021 was exemplary

Not sure this will come off as the Turks have been knocked back so many times and i have a feeling that UEFA have not forgotten the last time at Wembley . England would never get it by themsleves because what i said really .

Doing villa park up, but anfield will be 60k+, redeveloped, surely better than the 50k Everton stadium?
They should put the other 4 home nations in another mini tournament to decide who qualifies automatically, then the other 3 go into normal qualification groups

Re: Euro 2028 joint bid UK & ROI
I read somewhere that Anfield refusing to allow journalists from the Sun into the ground is an issue. And I agree that if Turkey keep bidding then at some point they have to get it, after missing out in 2016 and 2024.
