using an obscure word in a sentence about the Clarets

While we await the next chapter of the Burnley Book of Season 22-23 I propose a little challenge to place an obscure word into a sentence that has anything to do with this season. I'll start with one I came across today....

If all goes well on Saturday, waking up on Sunday morning, knowing what just happened, will be like smelling petrichor

It would appear that the original plan for VK and the Board this season was to aim for the Play Offs and hope for the best. Promotion wasn’t an all or nothing expectation.
As the season has developed, though, those plans have been defenestrated.

Rovers is as obscure a word as you are likely to find in Burnley as most Burnley fans (and Ashley Barnes) will use alternative nomenclature.

Despite criticisms from down the M65, Burnley have achieved their success of the past decade or so by good management, unlike some, who since the early 90's, have relied on eleemosynary payments from either Jack Walker, the Walker Trust or the Venkys ....

Early on my career I was advised - and took it - with regard to writing contractual letters to 'include one word that the recipient needs to look up in the dictionary; but only the one, any more than that and you'll just appear to be a smartarse.
