Peacock Farrell 7, did what he had to do well
Roberts 8, getting better by the week
Taylor 7, played well and pretty comfortable in possession
Beyer 7, composed as ever and my personal player of the season
Al Dakhil 7, coped well enough, good in the air and nice through ball for Benson in the first half
Gudmundsson 6, pretty quiet
Cullen 7, does what it says on the tin
Tella 6, injured early (obviously)
Benson 7, hard to score today as he was by far our biggest threat but ultimately missed a great chance and decision making wasn't the best
Twine 7, looked dangerous, just wish he had more of the ball
Foster 6, average. Worked hard enough and we are no longer a team that plays with a traditional centre forward. I used to be a big believer in forwards being judged on goals but in this team they are part of a system. Remains to be seen if he will be the cog.
Churlinov 4, sorry I couldn't give anything else based on that performance, maybe plus one for getting in the positions.
Cork 6, seemingly just brought on to nullify Carrols hold up play and did the job

BPF 7 - did everything required
Roberts 7 - usual from him, would have liked to see him on the overlap a bit more
Al-Dakhil 8* - looks a real player this lad, dominant in the air and floor
Beyer 8 - dealt with their physicality
Taylor 7 - did fine but definitely miss Maatsen’s dynamic movement in games like this (see Blackpool away / Fleetwood home)
Cullen 7 - sound as ever
JBG 6 - quiet by his recent standards and poor shooting
Twine 7 - sharp performance and our most creative source, wish we would pass him the ball more
Benson 6 - lively with a mixed end product
Tella NA
Foster 6 - good first half, linked play well but quiet second

Churlinov 5 - feel for him, yes it’s his chance to impress but clearly very rusty and lacking in confidence
Cork 6 - fine

Sound enough performance lacking in end product and one which you could sense may come with all the changes. Our right side looked really dangerous first half, left side not so much. Taylor actually played well but with him and Churlinov down that side it felt a lot more rigid / rusty compared to Maatsen & Zaroury due to their lack of game time and understanding.

Not part of the Player ratings group but thought Taylor and Cullen and PF were very good today!

Valuable game time for some of our fringe players and VK will have learned a lot.

It's also another point closer to the inevitable title.

Peacock Farrell 6. Can't award him more as he had nothing to do
Roberts 7
Al Dakhil 7
Beyer 7
Taylor 8 - Good game from Charlie
Cullen 8 - Like a Rolex
Gudmundsson 6
Twine 6 - Had some good touches but needs something more in open play
Benson 8** Our only real threat and cramp was more effective than Reading
Foster 6 - See Twine
Tella - Gutted he was injured so early.

Another game unbeaten and another point, fair does to Reading, they never looked like scoring but kept us quiet.

4s for anyone is harsh
4 for Benson is totally insane. Beat his man countless times and created havoc. Yes his final ball could have been better but 4 come on.

It must have been bad if CT has given a score of 4 to four players.

Ran a lot, into dead ends more often than not and end product just wasn't there
We didn't miss him when he went off injured and left us with 10 men

Probably our best chance of creating anything today, final ball wasn’t great but scared their left back to death all game.

4’s for Benson and Twine seems incredibly harsh (albeit from TV).

Benson lacked end product on occasion but some of his wing play was first class.

Twine I thought had a decent enough game with some nice touches and decent play - just lacking the right balls into him and perhaps creating some space for himself.

It’s a tricky one for forwards with the way we play. We don’t tend to create a lot centrally which means that the forwards have to drop deep and it can become congested in the middle of the park.

They took him off to try and stem the problems Benson was creating. The only things that stopped Benson were his own final deliveries and getting injured.

Edit - just to add, the Reading commentator was waxing lyrical about how well he had played.

BPF. 8... Slotted in seamlessly.
Roberts.8. Has really grown into the role and he's bought into the playing style fully.
Beyer 8...Solid
Al Dak. 8.. Hes there on merit now.
Charlie. 8..My MOM..way more adept within this system than many were expecting.
Cullen.. 8 Simply brilliant display. A Prem player.
JBG. 7. Needs to work the keeper.
Foster. 6 Not fully at it yet, but the signs are there.
Churlinov. 6.. Well at least we know he's not a left winger...not even close.
Benson. 7..There were umpteen occasions there where this lad was occupying 3 defenders..end product lacking but workrate phenomenal.
Twine. 7..the signs are there...game time needed.
Cork 6

Not our best, but a fairly solid display away from home. Tella was missed.

I’ve underrated Twine and Foster by 1 in my ratings tbh - so a 6 and 5 respectively. I usually hold back for an hour or so but didn’t today for some reason. Stand by my 4 for Churlinov though - don’t think he was up to it.

He looks to me as though he’d be far better suited in a more central position.

It's really difficult for players like churlinov especially, to not even be involved in the squad for game after game, then be expected to hit the ground running. Not a criticism of VK either, if that's where he is in the pecking order so be it. I do think there's a player in there but he's just not going to have the game time to develop with us. Rather than offload him on the back of this season I'd much rather see him out on loan.

Not the only 4 I’ve given and I’m mystified at some of the high marks for Benson. He had enough opportunities to win a league today and fluffed them all.

And we almost didn’t make it after an issue on the M6. I got in around 5 mins after kick off.
Perfect timing for today.

Not the only 4 I’ve given and I’m mystified at some of the high marks for Benson. He had enough opportunities to win a league today and fluffed them all.
A lot of fans thought twine had a good game, especially first half, certainly not a 4...but it's all about opinions, I just thought it harsh

I gave him a 7 and commented that it was difficult to score him today.
Just shows how opinions can differ as you can call him wasteful or dangerous and most likely to create or score a goal today.
Based purely on today I thought his marker showed him the outside every time and he rarely took it, choosing to square it inside on most occasions.
Sometimes it's better to take the outside and just fire it across rather than looking for that perfect goal all the time.

I think the extremity in ratings is that we've set such high standards that what in other seasons at this level would be an 8 or 9 rating are now the norm, so some posters are resetting the bar where anything less than this is seen as below average. There's not really a right or wrong way to do this. For example a performance where we beat Huddersfield 4-0 may be identical in quality to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace, but the player ratings will be set at a different bar.

4s at all are ridiculous. Twine and foster linked well and I thought first half we played some good stuff without scoring. Benson was electric - how anyone thinks he deserves less than a 6 is beyond me. If he put that exact performance in on another day when we win he’d be given 8s all round…

It's one of the reasons I don't like the players rating. If we'd have nicked that 1.0 in the 94th minute there would be no 4s, yet the performances would have been exactly the same.

From tv
Bpf 7 did everything he had to
Roberts 8 another good game
Al-Dakil 7 very good young defender
Beyer 8 best cb in the Championship
Taylor 8 have we got the two best left backs in the Championship?
Cullen 8 mom master class
Twine 7 good first half with some nice touches
Jbg 6 not at his usual best
Benson 7 our biggest threat going forward but was knackered after 70 mins and should have been subbed earlier
Churlinov 6 never got going and should have hit the target with that great chance
Foster 6 not his game, though some good movement and control in the first half
Cork 6 did a job
Very much an end of season feel in our performance. I'm not one of those, who is concerned about how many points we get or how many goals we score, though I obviously would like to go up as Champions and remain unbeaten at home. Another day at the office for me.

Had all kinds of time and space all afternoon yet didn’t produce a single half decent cross, he’s direct and fast so looks great on the eye but today his end product was dreadful

Benson is currently leading the man of the match vote, so many of those who watched the game seem to think he was ok.
