Nixon’s latest
2 posts, one about Weghorst being a wanted man, and the other saying ‘trying for Ryan’. Does anyone subscribe?

Weghorst possibly back to Turkey and we are keen on Ryan Kent who’s available on a free. This has been reported previously elsewhere so looks like something in it. I think that would be a smart signing and sound back up / competition for Zaroury.

I can't access his twitter feed. Ryan will be Ryan Kent. Not sure about Weghorst but I guess it will a second rate foreign league club.

Re: Nixon’s latest
Last time Nixon got one of our transfers right?
Seems well out the loop now we’re looking further afield for players.

Nixon broke cornet and Collins season before last, last summer I don’t think anyone broke our overseas signings but Nixon was on it with twine, McNally and Harwood belisagreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 8:41 amYour memory is better than mine. I don’t remember him breaking any of the overseas signings. All that came from the Belgian or German journos.

A quick google of Alan Nixon and Ryan Kent throws up a lot of stories. A lot.

Never heard anything from nixon that I've not heard somewhere else before. Mad that people actually pay him to tell them rumours.

Re: Nixon’s latest
Nixon is a big baby on Twitter. If anybody dare say anything which goes against his view, and I don’t mean abuse him, he has a meltdown and blocks. Always seems to be late at night from what I’ve seen, when I think he’s had a few sherberts.
He has got a few things right to be fair, but I don’t follow him for the reason above, he’s an a***hole.

Re: Nixon’s latest
Stopped following him when he started quote tweeting every question anyone ever asked him in reply. Most of it seemed to be questions about accumulators. Just weird.
Re: Nixon’s latest
Give over sticking up for him, he just repeats rumours, like some people on here.

Would fit in well here. Wouldn’t be surprised to find out he’s ablueclaret!Claretforever wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 9:13 amNixon is a big baby on Twitter. Re: Nixon’s latest
Another thread about nixon and his record.
He reports interest in players as much as anything else. Looking to sign or interested in type quotes doesn't need to be measured by how many of those people sign with us.
Even the managers tell the world in the window -we have lists of lots of players, we warm/cool interest in players as discussions progress.
Just wish people would just take the reporting for what it is - especially at this time of the season where the window isn't even open.

Re: Nixon’s latest
Would be happy with both. Weghorst isn’t good enough for what we need clearly and Kent is a bit of a punt but a worthwhile one on a free. If he isn’t quite cut out for the Prem we could easily get £3/4m for him from a top 6 Championship team. Good business.

Re: Nixon’s latest
Not convinced Kent is a likely target. Older than our more recent transfer targets and hasn’t played in the PL previously.
Quick read of the Rangers forums doesn’t suggest he’s been pulling up any trees recently.

There are so many comments on different threads, moaning about why certain discussions are even a thread, what’s the point of a page if people aren’t able to have discussions

Kent on a a free would be a bit of a no brainier really providing his wages were sensible .

Me either. Very much an old Burnley kind of signing.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 10:32 amNot convinced Kent is a likely target. Older than our more recent transfer targets and hasn’t played in the PL previously.

That said, we have a lot of restructuring to do again this summer, so imagine we will be looking at free transfers to supplement our spending.
Not that I’d be against it as such. I do think we need a strong squad so that any relegation scenario doesn’t require a full rebuild again. But that’s more Kents level in my opinion.

Re: Nixon’s latest
Kent on a free would be a no brainer, clearly has quality shown it in Europe before, 26 year old English player can play wide, as a 10 or even probs in a 3 in the middle
Re: Nixon’s latest
It’s not a whinge about a weakened team, but an observation that, beyond our first choice 14-15, what we have is mid/upper level Championship and not premier league quality. I think that goes for a few of our starting 11 too.
Someone like Kent improves “the squad” which VK likes to use and rotate and would contribute more than a Darko/Twine even Obafemi maybe.
Just an observation

Re: Nixon’s latest
I’d also add that, in terms of our first 11
- Benson gets injured easily
- Zaroury is inconsistent at this level
- Tella might not be here
So someone like Kent on a free, saving cash for elsewhere is a no brainier for me.

Re: Nixon’s latest
The Scottish Lower league is where our old players go to prolong their careers We are better using our excellent European scouting network
Re: Nixon’s latest
Don’t really get this comment on an old Burnley kind of signing. He’s a tricky winger, opposite of what he used to be able to bring in. Also just 26 years old? Good experience playing in front of big crowds and key part of their runs in Europe. Whether we sign him or not is anyone’s guess but definite yes from me on a free.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 11:24 amMe either. Very much an old Burnley kind of signing.

Re: Nixon’s latest
I’m stil of the opinion that Weggy is on a short-term contract with Manyoo, and is not our player. None of us know the details of the triangle between us, Besistkas and Manyoo, but this wouldn’t surprise me. That said, I would like to see him in a VK team. He is Barnes, but betterdermotdermot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 4:12 pmWell at least it sounds like Weghorst won’t be coming back, thank God.
Re: Nixon’s latest
Kent ticks a lot of boxes. He's very athletic, very quick, very direct, and very aggressive. He's approaching his peak years, and even though we might not get a transfer fee for him three or four years down the line, he'd be free, so it's doesn't matter as much with him. He's got a good amount of experience without being over the hill, and has played in some absolutely massive games including starting the Europa League final last year, losing it only on penalties. On a free it's a good signing.

Re: Nixon’s latest
Weghorst makes Barnes look like Gerd Muller. He’s a donkey. I’m amazed that he plays for Man Utd. Apparently ten Hag sees him as an integral part of his plans. Baffling!NRC wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 4:22 pmI’m stil of the opinion that Weggy is on a short-term contract with Manyoo, and is not our player. It's all relative, Eusebio he ain't But donkeys don't generally play for man united and score in semi finals of world cups.
