Re: RATE THE REF - Tim Robinson v Blackburn Rovers
From TV I thought he kept the game going well as much as possible
The Barnes hand ball was a penalty at the end but liner was unsighted as was the referee
Possibly Cork could have had 2 yellows - again on TV they keep showing these and from different angles but officials see once

Look it's a night of celebration. He didn't give Cork 2 yellows or even a straight red, and he failed to spot the Barnes handball, so let's just give him 25s all round.
(Sadly, I couldn't get a ticket and wasn't on the ground so my marks won't count!)

No marks from me tonight but I thought he generally did ok although we should probably have conceded that late pen

Like many I watched on the magic lantern, so no marks. But I think we got lucky with the Barnes handball and Cork avoiding a red.
But who cares

Homer, should have sent their player off for the deliberate hand ball that he clearly saw but the player was on a yellow so bottled it. Didn't see the ball to arm re Barnes so can't blame him for not booking the Bstards player for smashing it aggressively at Ash, he was right re Cork never a red.

Dreadful. Blatant handball to stop a winger attacking no yellow. Goalkeeper taking a free kick yellow card. Player booting Cork twice yellow card!

Can't mark tonight. But he was not good. Should have been a penalty a piece and at least 1 rover (Travis I think) should have walked.
Not sure on the Cork one myself as he easily won the ball and not sure he even got much of the player at all.
I get he was trying to keep the game even and not restrict the flow and for that he gets some respect.
We have had much worse this season and it is a sad indictment of the standard of referee in this league that on that performance he would be well in the top half of performance this season. IMO

This was always likely to be a very difficult game to referee; with that in mind I thought he did OK, insofar as he managed to get the game completed without anyone getting badly hurt or sending anyone off, a sending off from either team and carnage would've followed

I was there. Utterly useless. Soft and a proper homer. Summed up in one telling moment. If that deliberate hand ball to stop Zaroury dancing off down the wing in a great attacking position isn't a yellow card I'll plat bloody fog!!! The guy's an idiot.
(Was Barnes a hand ball and penalty?? Maybe, I couldn't tell.

Homer and a bad one at that. Brownhill booking was laughable considering what he let them get away with. Cork one isn't even a foul. The deliberate handball was a second yellow and he bottled it. Haven't seen their penalty shout. Did his best but he couldn't help them enough in the end.

I was there
The second ref in a row that was p!ss weak and simply not up to scratch. Apart from that second yellow for handball there was an incident 1st half where there was a clear double handed shove in the back in an arial duel that lead to them having a decent chance that was also "missed"

Re: RATE THE REF - Tim Robinson v Blackburn Rovers
Wasn't it Carter (right sided CB) that did the deliberate handball? If so, he hadn't been booked so it wasn't a second yellow.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 12:07 amHomer and a bad one at that. Re: RATE THE REF - Tim Robinson v Blackburn Rovers
Think there’s no doubt it should have been a penalty but there were a dozen or more players between the ref and Barnes so no chance he could have seen it. It looks like we were lucky that another Rovers player moved across blocking the linesman view just as it hit Barnes arm. Difficult one for the officials to give to be honest.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Apr 25, 2023 10:59 pmNo marks from me tonight but I thought he generally did ok although we should probably have conceded that late pen
Re: RATE THE REF - Tim Robinson v Blackburn Rovers
I was there and wasn't impressed. Didn't see the possible pen by Ashley as it was mayhem in the away end by that point! Think it was Carter who deliberately handled rather than Rankin-Costello but I'm not sure on what planet that isn't a yellow no matter who it was. He allowed Dolan to commit 2 bookable offences in the space of about 90 seconds without any punishment, though I have no complaints about the 4 yellows we collected. If they should have had a penalty then so should we for that deliberate pull back on Benson.

Dunno, everyone around figured that could be the only reason he didn't book him for the most blatant of handball, point being, he was ****.

Re: RATE THE REF - Tim Robinson v Blackburn Rovers
I normally don’t mind this fella but he had a bad night.
He missed far too much. Dolans hack on Charlie was a yellow, deliberate handball was a yellow, the kick into Corks ribs was a red, pull back on Manny was a pen, stamp on Muric was a yellow minimum.
For them: Corks first challenge was a yellow, handball was a pen, there was another I’ve forgotten.
Occasion was too much for him.
