Spare a thought for the unfortunate

Post by Billy Balfour » Wed Apr 26, 2023 8:13 am

Just think if the boot was on the other foot and that lot rocked up here, diminished our playoffs hopes and at the end of the game they held a party for winning the Championship on our Turf. Just think how we would feel. We would be feeling like shite this morning and for a long while to come. Like I said, spare a thought, and laugh your ******* arse off.

The old joke comes to mind about where in the dictionary you find the word 'sympathy'.

And it's also karma for their shabby ticket allocation. Petty doesn't even come into it.

Their time will come back around. Thats football. As a football club though, they've been very disappointing for this fixture.

The Dingle thread on BRFC.com is comedy gold

All the old classics are coming out

We won the league at Ewood Park

WE WON THE LEAGUE AT EWOOD PARK

Those that have kept themselves from recognising that fact last night by blaming the ref, Russia, the EU, the ball, some shadow conspiracy to keep Rovers out of the prem or whatever are going to have to deal with that FOR THE REST OF TIME

And its absolutely brilliant

I can still remember sitting in those dreadful bubble buses after we were beaten. Being then slowly driven through Blackburn whilst the roads were lined with hundreds of their fans dancing and gesticulating until we reached the M65. Not just kids, middle aged and quite elderly, doing jigs and banging on the bus for about an hour.

We won the league on their ground and celebrated accordingly. If they don't like it, tough, just suck it up like we did.

One of my worse memories as a claret.

Those of us who went to school in Accy in the 90s will be particularly thrilled with this turn of events. Sympathy? No Nay Never.

Spare a thought for them? Never, never ever. Not in this world, the next one or the one after it. Last night was to be relished and will be by me and my family for a very long time. That's my thoughts.

Wish they'd restricted us to 2000 that day

Why not wear the whole kit... that'll really rub it in. Don't forget your shin pads.

Have gone to the opticians this morning in my Burnley shirt as I had to walk through Lancaster town centre

I just feel desperately sorry for any horse unfortunate enough to live in that horrendous town.

Last night really was a once in a lifetime event. How many times will a team play their bitterest local rivals with the league title at stake and get the result?

Reveling in this feeling and have no sympathy for them whatsoever. A club that benefited from the game's original sugar daddy who sent football finance soaring now bleating about money is hilarious. I know someone still bitter about having to cancel their planned party in 87, so I'm dancing on their misery. Good emotive piece by Dan Black in the Express online today .

Blackburn Rovers fans complaining about other clubs spending money is just too much for me to process I'm afraid. That really does take a staggering lack of self-awareness.

But at least the money we have spent is ours. It's money that the club has earned, through years of hard graft and success. There's no super wealthy owner with an open chequebook here and there never has been. Everything we've got we've had to earn.

No win in 13 years. No goal in 9 years. 6 defeats on the bounce and a club that's going nowhere.

They must be absolutely reeling.
