At first I thought it was quieter near the town hall but the town centre, culvert and down to the Turf was properly mobbed

Re: WELCOME TO HELL
There could be the coach journey under the culvert with flares for each game like today.

That's a great photoVegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 7:48 pmthere actually weren't many watching the stream, most people watch and find content on Instagram - Vitinho, Beyer, Maatsen etc etc have some brilliant content. For example this is an outstanding photograph

Agreed. Just a few ideas. First game of the season, "BURNLEY ARE BACK" on a massive banner. "RISE MILL TOWN RISE" (always thought that could/should be a bit of a slogan for us.) "IN GOOD KOMPANY", "1882" with the two 8s maybe being the first division trophies we won (so many people don't know we were champions of England, twice.)NewClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 7:59 pmWas delighted to see the flags at the last game but would add:
- They need to be bigger (they were quite small for “big flags”)
- They need to be a bit more authentic and creative. They looked like they’d been designed by our graphic design department - which they probably had tbf - very corporate looking. Need to get a flag company in, study the designs across Europe and get some new designs.
- Need them in the stands (or the CFS) anyway.
But a great step forward to have any at all.
I'd stay away from Union Jacks and St George, and tap into Burnley itself and the heritage of the club.
Everyone will have an opinion though.
Definitely something the club/supporters groups could look into.

Got shot down in the past ,but we need an anthem that everyone of the crowd will sing,Forest was rocking yesterday singing Mull of Kintyre,Scouser’s YNWA is amazing ,and we need something better than In our Lancashire Homes.

And No Nay Never is great but something which isn't about them would be great too. When You're Smiling has been suggested lots. I think it'd really work.

Safe standing in the Hargreaves Upper. From halfway to CFS corner. Around the Dyche promotion, we had an influx of supporters and many are apathetic. The area needs a shake up and a return to what it was. Making a standing area would sort it.

Sadly the screen wasn’t working when we arrived at 18:20.Loyalclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 8:39 pmI've been watching it from my office all day. It has screens on both sides, showing the highlights from every game.
If you zoom in on the picture I posted this afternoon you can see Vitinho
Audio of the interviews from the speakers only.
Sounds like classic timing for a technical hitch to strike.
Bus felt to have been driving a little too fast. Would have worked at half speed to really savour the moments.
Anyway the weather was good.
And we’re champions.
And VK is staying.
So all is good.

Re: Victory parade - Tuesday 9th May
Apart from sorting out decent beer/service on the concourse, a Dirty Old Town walk out song would be my number one thing the club could do to improve the Matchday experience.
As the earlier poster said, YNWA, greasy chip butty, etc get the whole ground singing. We need one if Vinny wants Turf Moor to be a fortress.

Someone should have told them bus drivers to slow down.

Aren’t they doing something with it as part of Town2Turf??
Have to say, I’ve not seen much for the £6m given that whole project was suppose to start months ago?!

And the atmosphere would be helped massively if loud music wasn't played over tannoy right up to ko. It makes it near impossible to get any pre-match atmosphere going!Pickles wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 8:14 pmAgreed. Just a few ideas. First game of the season, "BURNLEY ARE BACK" on a massive banner. Agreed. There needs to be a balance. The music can definitely add to the atmosphere with the lights and the visuals but certainly needs to find the gaps to let us do our own thing too.

Re: WELCOME TO HELL
They cleared the trees on either side of the culvert bridge where everyone was stood tonight for the parade, pavement has been started across from the Bob Lord (not bowled over by it). £6m seemed to be misleading headline, it is part of a bigger project.
Personally liked the big flags on there tonight, could do something similar that doesn't damage the bridge
Re: Victory parade - Tuesday 9th May
Probably needs a thread of its own really.
Is it Macca that’s working with the club on this sort of thing? Not read anything from him of late (unless I’ve missed it) but perhaps he’s the man to collate ideas and get things moving?

Yes, me too. But really the club should be putting a few £k with a flag designer and letting the fans design them with them.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 10:06 pmWould happily contribute to the fund of any of these if someone was to organise!
Love the 1882 flag idea with the trophies. Imagine a lot of younger fans from opposition clubs don’t know about our history so would be a good reminder!

It’s far from a football song ,but how about The England Cricket Teams Anthem, might sound a bit boring to the young ‘uns ,but Jerusalem as the players came out would definitely get people out of their seats ,and one ,or two words could be altered to suit Burnley.
