Another little positive this season.

We retain possession from our throw-ins a lot more this season. A lot more thought and planning gone into this previously weak area of our general play.

Indeed makes you wonder what the previous coaches did all week. So many areas of our play, analysis , studying the next opponents, picking the "right" team for the next game have clearly been happening this season, as well as going to games to watch certain players who we might recruit. Also like the little training drill as our team come out for the second half Makes you wonder

Steady, that sounds like you may be criticising the former manager. The alarms will be ringing and the Dycheciples will be along to correct to you imminently.

Yeah if Dyche had sorted out retaining possession from throw ins he would have lost considerably less than the 10 out of 92 he managed in the last two seasons at Championship level. :?

City, Liverpool, Barca have been doing this with throw ins for a while.
Barca one of first teams I remember where I noticed that who ever was the nearest player to the ball when it goes out of play would pick it up and usually throw it to a player who had made themselves available - most of that time that was throwing it backwards and then it would go along the back line and they retain possession and start again. The team loses yards up the pitch but keep the ball.
Klopp started doing it soon after he came in.
VK does it now.

Dyche had a different approach of getting down the pitch. It’s just different styles. Both worked for burnley and let’s not disrespect Dyche by intimating he did not have an approach to throw ins - he did just a different one.

Dyche style is all about back to front as quick as possible..

A bit like rugby union.

Would be very interesting to see what position we would be in today in the Championship, had SD been in charge all season, and even more interesting to see our starting 11 for most games

Posession doesn't necessarily win games. QPR?

Something we'll never know.

I'm pretty certain though when I say we'd never have seen Benson or Zaroury in Claret & blue.

As the season has gone on, especially from escaping tight situations from the back, I've gone from nervous to very confident we will play ourselves out of trouble. It's almost therapeutic to watch at times.

There was one move in the second half yesterday which would have been goal of the season contender if it had finished in a goal.

Granted there will always be a blip, but if you look at league games-28 wins, 3 defeats, 84 goals,98 points , highest clean sheets in the Division, very much says we are doing lots of things right, and mainly all down to one man.
