Rovers and top six
Rovers and top six
Not sure if my maths are correct here, but, don’t Rovers need to win their last two games to have a chance of making the top six?
Even if they beat Luton today, wouldn’t they also need to beat Millwall on the final day as a draw would mean they lose out on goal difference (assuming they don’t win by about ten goals today)?

Re: Rovers and top six
They could draw today, as long as they beat Millwall and still make top 6, depending on other results obviously. They’re GD is a big disadvantage for them.

Brovers aren't going anywhere but the Championship.
Luton and Millwall...top six clubs will really turn them over.

Not quite
If they draw today and beat Millwall they could be sixth if Sunderland and WBA fail to win next Monday

If Rovers win their last two games they are guaranteed a play-off spot.
If they beat Luton, but draw against Millwall they miss out.
If they draw against Luton but beat Millwall they'll have to rely on other results.

Growing up in the 80s they always look like this to me:cricketfield73 wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:02 amMy football brain is stuck in the 1970s so this is how I always envisage Luton Town.
And they've got a plastic pitch too.

Rovers need to win today or they are facing needing a miracle to finish in the top 6.

Re: Rovers and top six
Nothing for Luton to play for other than avoiding injuries and not over-exerting themselves..
And they'd prefer Rovers in playoffs to any of the other alternatives.
This is going down to the last game v Miwaw where anything can happen.

Luton will want to finish third for the play off advantage that brings.

I don’t think that they’ll do it. Their manager is already making noises about managing in Europe next season.

Funnily enough, I think of Alan West, the Futcher twins and the wonderful Ricky Hill… then the ground, then fast forward to the present.cricketfield73 wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 11:02 amMy football brain is stuck in the 1970s so this is how I always envisage Luton Town.

Loved Ricky Hill. Last match of the season ont’Turf he was blown up for offside. Flicked the ball up in the air, caught it on his neck, rolled it down his back and back-heeled it straight to the ref.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 12:45 pmFunnily enough, I think of Alan West, the Futcher twins and the wonderful Ricky Hill… then the ground, then fast forward to the present.

Re: Rovers and top six
I think they blew there chances of the play offs against us as they definitely needed at least a point or 3 , tonight I think they might scrape a point against a Luton side who should make changes as they are in the play offs, but against Millwall and full house can't see them getting anything. UTC

Luton dont strike me as the sort of side to ease off now they're in the Play Offs...they'll want to keep their form and momentum going. Not easy just to turn off and turn back on intensity.

Hoping Boro get something at Rotherham otherwise Luton really have nothing to play for.

Rovers final 2 games are horrible and I can't see them making it. It's the two already in place plus Coventry and a.n.other which will likely be WBA I have a sneaky feeling.

Re: Rovers and top six
Rovers don’t need to go up they don’t need the money as shown by them throwing our ticket money away
I used to say I’d like all local teams in top league as long as we were top dogs but after the way Rovers treat us they aren’t fit for the Premier.
They are like an old angry , ugly aunt who you only visit when forced to
