I have purposefully stayed away from commenting on these posts, but I've had anough. Why don't you stop talking total rubbish about Foster?StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Thu Jun 29, 2023 8:35 pmWe’ve been sold a pup with pony Foster. It happens.
As long as we get some quality in up front over the summer it shouldn’t matter too much.
A spell at somewhere like Bolton or Barnsley might be good for him on loan for a bit. If he can manage to find a bit of form in League One then maybe he can find a Championship club in the new year.

Don't rise to him, it's what he wants. On every single post he makes.

Foster comes from a way lower level. Westerlo is actually a second division level team that went up and performed well under a new owner with a new coach. Foster came from nowhere and started to get better and better. Showing that he can fight for the ball and score goals. Technically decent. But the guy needs time to grow still. Burnley bought him at a time when he was affordable. So be patient with him and don't expect a world class striker just yet. He does have the potential to become a good PL striker within a year or 2.
Don't put pressure on the fella as he's still in a developing stage, adjusting to higher levels of football. He won't be the first striker next season but he will hopefully become a very useful member of the squad this season. And let's see what's next for him. Take it step by step.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I for one think its very brave for a Rovers fan to come on this board - there used to be a few when they were better than us, declined to one or two when we were similar, and have been none now for the while we've been better to far better
Its a sign that maybe their fan base has got around to the fact that football is about rivalries and sometimes you just have to deal with your rivals being a lot better than you are currently
So I'd like to welcome Stayingdown4ever to the board, and I hope that he's not discouraged by current inability of Rovers to even score against us, let alone beat us and to remind him that we won the league at Ewood Park
Welcome!

It’s a bit weird though pretending to support another side, just be yourself. There’s a few closet Blackburn fans that post on their board, it’s easy to work out which poster one of them is on here because of his opinions, fair play to him though he’s respectful 99% of the time so they put up with him, until he has a few too many and winds them upLancasterclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:30 amI for one think its very brave for a Rovers fan to come on this board - there used to be a few when they were better than us, declined to one or two when we were similar, and have been none now for the while we've been better to far better

You obviously know more about the Pro League than most on here, what's Ayase Ueda like as a player?
I see he scored 22 goals last season for Vitinho's old team Cercle Brugge, who finished mid table, which isn't a bad return. I appreciate he may have scored a few pens, but it's a decent record.
The only highlights I have seen are on YouTube and he looks quick and clinical in his finishing but what's his all round game like? Worth a punt?

Burnley fan favorite Tom Heaton is considering a move to Luton. Man Utd are holding back until the David De Gea situation/replacement first team GK is resolved. Be great to see Tom playing regularly in the Prem again if it goes through

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Thats a good question. I think he will be a good fit at Luton and a new challenge for him to get the No 1 shirt. As to him coming back to us, I think he would be a good back up, but probably lost that "sharpness" to be our No 1, and his footwork would be below the required level for VK. I don't think he would come back to us, and have to fight for the shirt again, as I suspect thats why he went to Villa with Nick Pope quite rightly ahead of him at the time. What I do know is he would get one hell of a reception at the Turf if he came back in goal for LutonStayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 8:48 amWould you have him back here? Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I must admit I haven't seen any games of him this season but I know he's rated very highly being technically gifted and hard working. He plays for a team with a very high pressing system. Therefore the physical demands for the attacking players are higher. Although I think he's looking great he might be expensive. I'm not sure how much he will go for but I'm assuming that they would expect around 10-15 mil.ClaretFelix wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:45 amYou obviously know more about the Pro League than most on here, what's Ayase Ueda like as a player?

Do think he would be a good addition for Burnley. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

I’m not sure he’d be happy dropping down a division to play at Ewood, tbh.StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 8:48 amWould you have him back here? If so, as the no1 or back up?

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Well I posted on their board suggesting they get behind their manager at the time, Paul Ince. I remarked that the Claret fans were doing their part in getting behind him by chanting his name just after Rovers had gone 2-0 down against whoever they were playing at the time. Inexplicably I was banned, a shame really 'cos there's many more suggestions I could have made.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:44 amF**k being respectful - if I ever posted on their board I've got thirty years of angst to unload - I'd be banned after my first post!
Getting back to transfer rumours - it looks like Russel Martin wants to sign Joel Piroe from Swansea. Similar player to Tella, so if that goes though..... although other clubs will be interested in Nathan.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I’ve had two Millwall mates message me separately saying Fleming is on his way to us.
Fee agreed today apparently, one of them saying £18M but not quite sure how accurate that fee is. Imagine it will be less.
Very good signing if true.

The press was saying 8 million would do it. They paid less than two last season.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I’d be happy with this signing but I’d say the chances of it being anywhere close to 18m are slim. Can’t see it being much more than 10 personally.

Can’t get too excited about this one but 15 goals from midfield is very decent so hopefully another astute signing.

We appear to be bidding for a team of keepers!
Perhaps Mr Pace has misunderstood Mr Kompany.

Mr Kompany: "Yes. I must admit that this season I would like some keepers".

If we believe what has been reported-ie a third bid, then after 3-4 weeks of fannying about trying to get Clarke, we should know the figure that will secure him. So either meet the price tag or move on. This reminds me of the Garlick days.Makes me wonder if we are really serious about him if you look at how quick O'Shea was concludedNori1958 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:08 pmAnother bid for Clarke that'll get rejected

We’ll be bidding for players throughout the close season . I think the thing is not to get too attached to any of these names.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I think that’s the difference. I’m not sure Kompany is attached to many players. We bid what we think they’re worth, if it’s rejected we move on. Think it was a tweet from Sacha that said we’re actively working on 60 players at any one time. Not a bad negotiating tool if clubs know we’re going to move on and not deadset on a particular player.warksclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:14 pmIf we believe what has been reported-ie a third bid, then after 3-4 weeks of fannying about trying to get Clarke, we should know the figure that will secure him. You have no idea of what's being said during negotiations though. It may be that a couple of weeks back, Sunderland were intimating that £Xm would be enough, we offer that, then suddenly they move the goal posts and ask for more. It's in their best interest to try and get other clubs involved and ramp up the price.warksclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 30, 2023 7:14 pmIf we believe what has been reported-ie a third bid, then after 3-4 weeks of fannying about trying to get Clarke, we should know the figure that will secure him.
