I wouldn't be surprised if he started for us in the Premier league I'm beginning to worry about the budget we have available.
It’s not necessarily our budget it’s the spending from Saudi and the other big teams in the prem that concerns me.

60m a few season ago would have got us 6-7 decent players.

Be lucky if that gets you for 4 now.

I bet Connor Roberts is welcoming Weghorst back with a good old fashioned Welsh head butt for being a ****.

Given our "smaller" PL budget
Would you want to spend circa £10m on Clarke who is not guaranteed a start in front of Zaroury
Put the £10m towards someone like Tella or Gyokeres who would be starting
We need players through the door who are going to be starting games
With attacking players, I would think that VK is striving to have ideally two equally good players for each position , to allow for form, injuries and the ability to make excellent impact subs, particularly with five subs now?

I had this exact conversation yesterday, it's out of control and VERY VERY bad for football

The Saudi league spending this summer will no doubt trickle down and push the fees up even higher

we are already seeing it and you are spot on, that 60 -70 million won't get us any value especially trying to sign players from the Championship. Plenty of Sunderland fans wanting 20 million for Jack Clarke !! You absolutely can't blame them for wanting that but it's massively over priced at that valuation imho. We will have to find some gems from around Europe/South America if we can to get the numbers in we need.

The problem is finding gems that are premier league ready is incredibly difficult and even they can cost north of 10m (Vrankx being a good example)

Brighton are to an extent, but a lot of there talent has a season or two at there sister club to develop before moving to Brighton on the cheap.

Mitoma being a good example of that.
Victor Boniface will likely move to Brighton this season and will more than likely do well

Took I lot of interest in Sunderland matches last season when they were on the tv and always thought Clarke was excellent, would be delighted if we signed him.
I also watched a few of their games and thought the same, but until I saw he's stats didn't think there was much end product, but clearly his stats say different. I'd expect vk could continue he's upward curve so would be a steal at 10m, but it's also imperative we get tella back and if the reported 15m gets him that would also be a steal. So potentially that's another 25m on top of the 20m already spent on beyer and o'shea, which begs the question, how much do we have.

I get that
But at the moment we don't have any strikers who you would be comfortable with starting in the Prem
Same possibly for No 10 and another CM

Don’t say that or everyone will be into you for daring to suggest some of our players aren’t going to be up to the Premier League.

I don't get the point of a 'disguise'. I believe it would be far more acceptable, and perhaps even welcomed by most on here, to have a resident Rovers fan, if said fan could provide some balanced insight to threads. Instead, what we have is some plonker hoping to grab some attention. He's had as much of my attention as he's going to get.

After the season we've just had, even the most miserable pessimists (and that is me) are on cloud nine

You never do anything other than criticize the team, and your username is exactly what was on that banner flown over the Turf

Don't get it myself, but each to their own

Btw, we won the league in your backyard, and that is something that neither we or you will ever forget

I did enjoy the season very much, I’m just a realist.

I called one player pony - which he is.

If it bothers you so much that I don’t rate Foster then just put me on your foe list and you won’t have to see my posts anymore.

Looks as if the teenager from Anderlecht will be the next addition, but who do we all think will be next in after him?

I’ll kick it off and say Nathan Tella .

Mate opinions are fine and you are entitled to them, but there is nothing realistic about your Foster opinion it looks like you are on the wind up especially when you said he needs a season in League 1.

Anyway I don’t know why anyone cares who you support or don’t support I personally couldn’t care less. I take everyone at face value on here if you are lying so what as long as you aren’t insulting and abusive then it doesn’t matter. if they think you are a Blackburn fan and can’t get over it then they should just ignore rather than filling the board with trivial crap trying to catch you out.

Nixon’s pieces:

- Arsenal wanting to sell Lokonga, we would buy, but the deal proving difficult to complete so loan might be the best outcome.
- keen on buying James Trafford from City but Leicester keen on loaning him
- Swansea and Hull keen on Bpf

Burnley fan favorite Tom Heaton is considering a move to Luton. Man Utd are holding back until the David De Gea situation/replacement first team GK is resolved. Be great to see Tom playing regularly in the Prem again if it goes through
According to Football Insider Everton have now enquired about Tom Heaton. Maybe Everton are under pressure financially to sell Pickford

and will let Bailey Peacock-Farrell go out on loan again after he helped Sheffield Wednesday to League One promotion last term.
Are we really meant to take this seriously when they can’t get a basic like this right .

What's the " little known rule" in the headl8ne?
I assume the fact we can only have 1 player on loan from a prem team with 2 prem loans in total

and will let Bailey Peacock-Farrell go out on loan again after he helped Sheffield Wednesday to League One promotion last term.
Are we really meant to take this seriously when they can’t get a basic like this right .
Seeing as BPF somehow manage to play for two teams and get them promoted I’d be trying to sell him rather than loan him out again ;)

I really like McNally and think it's a massive shame that he doesn't really suit our system/style of play, but what do you think he should be worth in terms of a transfer fee?

He has shown he can definitely cut it at the top end of the Championship. In todays market and looking at some of the prices being asked of us for players, surely he has to have a worth of 5 mill plus?

Clear as mud that article.

Hope it's true we're still in for Lokonga, but it doesn't actually describe what the hold up is. Unless it's indicating Lokonga isn't 'sure' about the move and 'wants to be sure'.

Sounds like a loan is preferred

Isn’t the rule only two loans from all prem league clubs but no limit from abroad

Millwall would be great experience for McNally, whether loan or sale. Regarding what we could sell him for, we bought him for a fraction under £2m, and his spell at Coventry should have raised his value. For me you would think £4m-£5m but I am no expert

I don't think he doesn't suit our system, just unlucky that we are blessed with CBs. I would happily keep him, I think he has a future, but it would be unfair on him to remain as 4th choice when so many good championship sides are courting him.
If he does go, I'm sure he'll go with everyone's good wishes.
