That speed over the first 3 yards that made him goals, has died.
Still be a legend for his time with us, such a shame that injury curtailed his Liverpool chances.

Nathan Collins from Wolves to Brentford, £23 million, reported by BBC Sport.
Maybe already mentioned, or maybe not.
Breaks Irish transfer record, again. Stoke, Burnley, Wolves, Brentford. He must enjoy moving house.
And, I see already mentioned.

I’m guessing between £5m and £6m in signing on fees helps dealing with the “stress” of moving !!Paul Waine wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 6:59 pmNathan Collins from Wolves to Brentford, £23 million, reported by BBC Sport.

Funny. Nobody accused of us buying the league until we started winning games.... Leicester going a different route to us, buying known, experienced players. It's more high risk in that they'll be spending a lot more in wages on players like these. They go up though and people will laud their astute additions, certainly looks good on paper!
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
We are in advanced talks for Trafford according to TalkSport. 19 million fee, another huge one.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
19 million. Hahaha.

Surely not that much. Didn’t we refuse to pay 20 million euros for the lad who Brighton just signed?

Serious question where is this money coming from?
Are we taking a shed load of debt on this summer?
in terms of the signing he looks a real star.

We don’t know what was in the bank
We don’t know what they’ve raised in funding via people like the Watts
We do know most transfer fees are spread out over the duration of the first contract the player signs so we won’t need a huge amount now

It’s certainly a lot of money. Playing devils advocate he is one of the most highly rated English keepers around so potentially we see a large sale in 12 months timeGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 7:53 pmHe’s never worth that much, unless we’re getting Old Trafford as part of the deal …

I believe so, haven't they mortgaged the club against new loans? I'm sure I read that a few weeks ago. I may be wrong, happy to be corrected.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 7:52 pmSerious question where is this money coming from?

I would take Rodriguez to outscore Weghorst in terms of goals per minute played this season (assuming they both play for us, that is)

Does anyone still think Muric starts this season if we are paying 19m for Trafford

Alan Nixon mentioned £6m plus add ons yesterday. That feels about right to me.
I think he would be an excellent 2nd choice keeper who will grow into a number 1.

I’ll take that bet. 50p that WW out scores JROD. Say five games minimum?boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 7:58 pmI would take Rodriguez to outscore Weghorst in terms of goals per minute played this season (assuming they both play for us, that is)

It's all footy forum guesswork, which is great, so I'll raise you: if Wout had been available last season he'd have scored more goals in the championship than the Coventry lad Viktor Gyökeres.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 7:58 pmI would take Rodriguez to outscore Weghorst in terms of goals per minute played this season (assuming they both play for us, that is)

Now its hard not to get excited by this sort of signing (do wonder what price Man City have on a buy back though)

That's a very bold prediction, which of course cannot be substsntiated. I'll try this one:
Had Gyokeres played for Man Utd in the PL last season he would have scored

I hope this is a BOGOF deal with… erm not Harwood Bellis all things considered… let’s say McAtee.
Credit to Nixon on this one, he’s been banging on about Trafford for ages and I didn’t believe it but credit where it’s due.

Does almost look like we held off to the last on this until Verbruggen moved.
I heard his agent got very greedy fwiw.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
If we’re spending up to £34m on Coulibaly and Trafford (yes I know Coulibaly is deferred to next summer, but still) then the idea that the likes of Wout Weghorst will be starting up front for us can be safely consigned to the bin. Highly impressive and ambitious to the extreme.
One wonders just how much we are willing to spend this summer. What investment have we brought in to be able to do this level of deal? If these fees are accurate then I don’t think it’s beyond the realms of possibility that we are still in for Mikautadze and Tresor…

It’s makes me think our budget must be massive this year if we’re in for GK’s at this level. With bids in for players in other positions too. Guess we’ll find out in the next 4 weeks when everything has come together.

Fwiw Trafford has been immense for England u21s in these Euros. Not conceded a goal yet but it’s his calmness on the ball and decision making which has stood out to me.

Andy Jones (as good as it gets for us).
Burnley in advanced stages of completing a deal for Manchester City GK James Trafford.
£15m initial fee + £4m in add-ons.
Missed out on Verbruggen & moved quickly to Trafford has been another target this summer.
Question over the future of Aro Muric
