I'd doubt he'd want to play for Dyche again.RVclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 8:04 pmWeghorst re-linked with Everton. I just can’t see Dyche wanting him after failing to get him to work here?

Just reading that Newcastle are planning/hoping for a mass exodus of fringe players
Including Jeff Hendrick - he is still contracted to them for this next season
Also wanting to move on players like Jamal Lewis, Ryan Fraser and Matt Richie

Happy to acknowledge this. As I said, we met with him after he had already almost gone to Leeds. Haven’t heard who the other Prem team was that was in for him according to Martin but we were most certainly one.

That BS article also says Ashley Young will rebuff interest from Burnley. No way we are trying to sign a 38 year old.RVclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 8:04 pmWeghorst re-linked with Everton. I just can’t see Dyche wanting him after failing to get him to work here?

Coventry fan I know rates Hamer very highly. Would be gutted if he left.

Much more excited about the prospect of Hamer than Gyokeres, for that exact reason.
Hamer is their key player in my opinion.

How do you figure? Weghorst started every game under Dyche and all his goals and assists came under Dyche. Jackson dropped him.
That said I still hope Wout stays.

Ndyie looking like he's off to Marseilles. Big blow for the blades that one
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Ryan Manning signed for saints on a free from Swansea, I think we missed the boat here with this lad, a very good left back & on a free you ain't going to get much better tbh.

Good because I don't think Bruun would have a massive impact on Burnley despite his qualities. We should aim a lot higher than players like this.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 11:15 pmBBC now have the Hamer link up.

Nice player, lovely skills, just not dynamic enough for a Prem sides midfield.

Although I’m excited about this one, I think that is a fair shout. I watched him a LOT last season and it’s hard to explain but I sometimes thought he was lacking ‘something’ and maybe dynamism is the right word. Then he’d do something great - an assist, goal at a key time, press & tackle, etc.CharlieinNewMexico wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 7:19 amPersonal opinion but I think Hamer is too slow for the Prem.

I think he’d be a very good signing but not a £20m player the Cov fans say he is.

Worth a watch:

Two things I really like is how he anticipates the pass and closes down his man quickly, and his dead ball delivery.
Not sure a lot of those goals get scored against Prem keepers though.

Plays more as a holding/defensive midfielder but gets up the pitch too. A bit box to box really. Maybe that’s why VK wants him - different positions in and out of possession.Rick_Muller wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2023 8:23 amwatching that, he's a lot like Brownhill... we do need cover in each position. I can see what Charlie means. Sometimes looks to lack half a yard of pace/acceleration but seems to make up for it with his reading of the game.

Thought we would have signed Trafford by now as he's back home and was watching Bolton v Curzon other day surely there's no problem.

They're an odd bunch. They seem to vastly over-inflate the value of all their players. As it stands they likely think McNally isn't worth anything more than we paid for him last summer. If he's a Coventry player this time next week he'll be worth £50mVegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 8:22 pmMcNally is worth 7 million to everyone other than Coventry

Maybe other clubs try to gazump us or he wants more money.
I wouldn't have thought that would happen but I'll be happier when he holds up the Clarets scarf or is seen in our new signing video.

It’s all gone quiet regarding new signings?! Would have thought the Coulibaly one would have gone through by now and as for Trafford………?
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
For a supposedly top left back on a free transfer there wasn’t exactly much clamour for him.
