My friend seems to think we're signing Reo Hatate from Celtic.
My friend has said Burnley are so loaded we are actually going to sign Celtic.

Russell Martin talking about his Southampton squad; no names mentioned but infers it's a really big one.

Martin: Saints squad will look different in four weeks

Southampton's Russell Martin discussed how the transfer window will affect his squad over the next few weeks, following their opening night win over Sheffield Wednesday.

He said: "We have a really big squad, so we have four or five players that could consider themselves starting players in this division for sure at home, albeit for various reasons.

"I'm not convinced about adding to that at the moment, though we've just lost Tino [Livramento], so maybe that's something we can look at. Adding at the moment might be a bit counter-productive.

Burnley and Aston Villa are close to a £12 million deal for Aaron Ramsey - with a buy back clause agreed

Burnley are happy to pay the fee - the only hurdle is Ramsey agreeing terms with Villa if he returns to them in the ‘buy back’ scenario

Happy with this one. Interested to see where Vinny sees him playing in our system.

Burnley and Aston Villa are close to a £12 million deal for Aaron Ramsey - with a buy back clause agreed.

The shock swoop by Vincent Kompany should go ahead as the bulk of the transfer is now in place, including the young Villa midfielder’s terms.

Burnley are happy to pay the fee to land a player they want in a tricky transfer market where they have suffered so many delays and frustrations.

The only hurdle is Ramsey agreeing terms with Villa if he returns to them in the ‘buy back’ scenario.

The complex move is the brainchild of new Villa transfer guru Monchi who is getting money in for the club but with a guarantee they can bring back the home grown player.

Yeah 8/10 similar to Twine. Just at Boro he played off the left a fair bit coming inside, though typically that’s not how Vinny’s wingers operate is it.

Had a brain fade ,does a buy back clause mean that they have the first option if he comes up for sale,or can they say at any time that they just want to buy him back?

Seems strange for Ramsey and Villa to agree personal terms already for if he goes back

Like so many advanced links to similar players in the last few weeks I would mark this one down as well to a decoy/fantasy/smokescreen. I can’t believe we would spend so much on Ramsey with other potentially better players allegedly available on similar or just a bit more money

This seems a bit strange. You would think that the player could negotiate their personal terms after the buy-back had been triggered - like a normal transfer scenario. There’s so many things that can potentially change between now and that point that it seems unusual that those terms have to be agreed now.

I’m confused a little too. Unless it’s the selling club’s insurance that they can cash in if the player does become a superstar in the future. I.e. they initiate the buy back clause if said player is being hunted for 2 or 3 times the buy back price so they can get a large profit too.

Going by that logic, every transfer is like a loan? Every player is here until someone pays a price we want for him.

I'm guessing that if Villa have an automatic right to buy him back, then the player also needs guarantees as to the minimal personal terms that he can be given under those circumstances, otherwise they could offer him terms far less favorable than another club, and depending on the wording of his contract he would have to go to Villa.
I agree that this would be difficult to put into words though due to all sorts of variables.

Well, not really. Because a loan stipulates where the player goes at the end of that deal.

Won't be an issue - we have players currently at the club who won't get into the 25 with some of them going out on loan

Aaron Ramsey is 20 according to Wiki.
Looked at u tube highlights of Ramsey. Looks a good player. But with time could be a serious attacking midfielder. Not the complete package now. But with VK coaching … could be a serious player.

Good few loans though may make a difference as to them being good enough. Of course, not all of them but certainly think we have a few that will get better with competitive games.

Yes, as the article says it’s Aaron.

Amazing how many fans are completely bamboozled by the fact there is more than one person called Aaron Ramsey and that he has a brother who’s also a footballer.

Important point as to who is leaving?
We need to be selling not loaning if as CT says some of the squad not good enough
I haven't said that, I just think it's obvious that some will go out, either on loan or permanently and if not they will not be in the squad if we go over 25, as was the case in the first half of last season with Will Norris.

Next summer's cheddar though, more money to spend on a left back and striker this summer.
