Is this a good source re. Lokonga? Just odd it’s not been picked up anywhere else.

They’ve both done the media stuff today, Ramsey likely announced tomorrow and available Friday, Lokonga not available Friday so they may space them out.

why not available for Friday? Is that because of injury?arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 8:32 pmThey’ve both done the media stuff today, Ramsey likely announced tomorrow and available Friday, Lokonga not available Friday so they may space them out.

According to reports he’s suffering from a muscular injury. Stayed behind in London to recover from injury.

All the assumptions were that Lakonga was stalling the deal and maybe he didn't fancy it or was asking for too much money.
Perhaps we were waiting to see how he recovered.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I've seen pics of Cullen and Benson leaving training at the same time as all the other players.
Suggests to me they are fit, as I've often seen injured players leaving at different times, going up Gawthorpe Lane.

There have been some real cranks on here this summer pretending to be in the know about transfers, but a_s_c is a good poster so I'd be disappointed if it turns out he's also on the wind up!
Would be great to get those two in as well. Unbelievable in fact.

Absolutely amazing if true. Can understand the delay until now with Lokonga , why pay his wages for a month if he isn’t fit. Hopefully fit and ready to start his preseason very soon.arise_sir_charge wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 8:32 pmThey’ve both done the media stuff today, Ramsey likely announced tomorrow and available Friday, Lokonga not available Friday so they may space them out.

Ramsey deal agreed (Ornstein)
14m fee. Medical being scheduled (goes against rumours of him already having done it?)

Just in the interests of sheer excitement - imagine this might be actually possible shortly:
————————————Trafford/Muric
—-Roberts———Al-Dakhil————Beyer————-NEW
———————-Cullen———————Lokonga
—Benson————————Berge———————-Zaroury
———————————-—Amdouni
Trafford/Muric, O’Shea, Vitinho, Ekdal, Brownhill, Redmond, Gudmundsson, Koleosho, Foster
The options we have/are maybe about to have (with possibly even further signings to come in) are beyond anything we have been able to comprehend in my 30 years watching us.

Ekdal or O Shea will have to play against Haaland for their physicality.jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 9:26 pmJust in the interests of sheer excitement - imagine this might be actually possible shortly:

I meant in general with that team as opposed to City game, but totally agree! Wouldn’t be shocked to see O’Shea at right back too.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 9:32 pmEkdal or O Shea will have to play against Haaland for their physicality.

Berge isn’t a number 10. He’s more likely to be competing with Cullen and Lokonga for their places
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I disagree. He’s more a 10/advanced 8 than someone who plays a double pivot.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 9:37 pmBerge isn’t a number 10. He’s more likely to be competing with Cullen and Lokonga for their places

I’m definitely not on the wind up and it’s someone who is trust that has passed the information to me. I see what Ornstein has said but I’m told all that’s done and he should be in the squad Friday.
What I will say on Lokonga is that I did ask was he sure it was Lokonga as we’ve been linked with a lot or players of similar stature and he said he was certain.

Certainly can play deeper yes, I see him as more of a box to box player - just tried to illustrate that in that particular three man midfield I think he’d be the more advanced.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 9:37 pmBerge isn’t a number 10. I think against a lot of teams, particularly at home you’re correct though. Likely to be one of those three sacrificed to introduce a Twine/JBG/Ramsey etc.

With the quality we are bringing in, game time is going to be limited for those who struggled to start in the Championship. Think we will see Vinnie's tough streak kick in soon, and some of the old guard are going to find opportunities extremely limited, if at all

Excitingly, I think our best lineup might look something like
Trafford
Roberts Beyer O’Shea NEW
Cullen Berge
Benson Brownhill Zaroury
Amdouni
Brownhill obviously interchangeable for more attacking options if we’re playing a less potent side.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
It’s all very exciting but at what point does the squad become too big? First we’re signing goalkeepers we didn’t know we needed, then a clutch of wingers ( to add to the clutch we signed last summer) now we’ve seemingly gone from nought to 3 central midfielders in a day, and we’re still short of a left back or two and a decent striker.
How are we going to keep all of them happy, and more importantly, where is the money coming from?

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I think we will see massive amounts of rotation this season. The concept of a settled side is long gone. Kompany is clearly building a squad of first team players, all 25 of them - not a ‘first 11’ with back ups. arteta is doing the same. Must be a pep thing. The trick will be keeping everyone happy.Iloveyoubrady wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 10:12 pmExcitingly, I think our best lineup might look something like
