If this guy comes in, could see Taylor back at Leeds before end of next week
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
But if Taylor goes who would be the reserve left back in case of any injury to the new guy?123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 2:27 pmIf this guy comes in, could see Taylor back at Leeds before end of next week

The new guy will be backup to the even newer guy

This looks very much like a business decision. Brown hill and Taylor on big wages. New guys on a lot lower ….probably a fraction of their wages. Good decision in my opinion.

We’re short of left sided defenders, nothing to do with wage saving. Bizarre to link this to Brownhills salary.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Any truth in yesterday's rumour that Beyer did his ACL?

Seeing our best youth players leave for a nickel and a dime doesn't surprise me at all. Great defender that was close to the national team but then got an unlucky injury. Last summer they bought Vertonghen. Hoedt already left afterwards and Delcroix hasn't played much since. Too bad as he's one of the biggest talents they have.
Can't go wrong with Hannes Delcroix. Very comfortable on the ball. Smart player, good positioning, fits perfectly in Kompany's system, has a good long ball and good vision.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Can play there if necessary but he's definitely a centre back. Not the hardest defender but very technical. He's a bit like the light version of VK. Bit smaller, less calibre, but definitely comfortable on the ball and a good defender for a team that wants to build up from the back. He's still young and he has his best years in front of him. For 1m you get a player that can become an international. Already experienced and well educated at Anderlecht youth academy. Calm and intelligent guy that was adopted by a Belgian caring family. He's a likeable character very much a teamplayer. Eager to learn. Loves playing Kompany-ball.
If I was in charge of Anderlecht he'd have always been my number one pick. The Vertonghen transfer was a daft decision when you already have Hoedt and Delcroix and you are low on budget.
Great squad player that maybe will take his chance when presented. Hopefully the English football suits him well. I have a good feeling about it though.

There’s a pic of Beyer in the training gallery from the latter part of this week so would suggest he’s not going to have done his ACL thankfully.

Apologies, I misunderstood - thought we were talking about why he hobbled off against Citeh (which didn’t look that serious)

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
The club is extremely media savvy - that is not in doubt. Whether they share the information we want is a different issue. It is all part of the control that is being exercised - there was plenty of that with the last regime as well. Vincent Kompany is not too different from Sean Dyche (or most football managers) in wanting to keep a lid on injury situations - particularly if they occur in training - at least until after the next match.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 3:37 pmRe Beyer. The club aren't allowed to release details of injuries. When will people understand this. As employers they are not allowed to disclose these details, the player can...but the club aren't allowed to.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 3:37 pmRe Beyer. I'm surprised nobody else has commented about this rumour. He's the current top scorer in Denmark, 5 goals after 4 games...

I got the Delcroix news this morning and have to admit to being somewhat surprised by it, but it very much looks as though it's happening.

Very strange signing. 24 years old and only 1m Euros. Why are Anderlecht selling for such a low fee?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 5:21 pmI got the Delcroix news this morning and have to admit to being somewhat surprised by it, but it very much looks as though it's happening.

He's got to have a strong constitution to have survived that... The Chatsworth Estate maybe is the garden of Eden when compared to Haiti, Port-au-Prince particularly is more than a bit lively.

Since the 2020/21 season he has had over 400 days injured. With two seperate knee surgery’s requiredJakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 5:47 pmFour serious injuries already at the age of only 24? Why are we signing him then?

As I've posted earlier, Nixon said we were after a back up centre half a couple of weeks ago now as one of five signings we still want to make.
This won't be a new thing.

Because the new board are idiots. We already got Agyei and we would have gotten Verbruggen for 5 million if the GK coach Frank Boeckx (who now left) didn't repeatedly tell the sportive director it wouldn't be a good idea. Debast Arnstad Kana and Stroeykens are also up for grabs. It's a joke.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 5:37 pmVery strange signing. 24 years old and only 1m Euros. Don’t think we would be attempting to replace Beyer with this lad from Anderlect, you’d think THB to come back on loan if we needed to replace BeyerVegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 5:55 pmthe guy who made the claim on twitter has a name something along the lines of user2376524. Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
When he's fit he would be part of the national team. He's capable of reaching a pretty decent level, definitely a good back up player that might even take his chance as a starter. He knows the tactics, VK knows what he's going to get. Already got some years of experience too at a good level. For one million it's an absolute bargain.Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 5:47 pmFour serious injuries already at the age of only 24? Why are we signing him then?

I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer to take the word of the poster from Belgium than another of Newcastleclaret's classic stats diarrhoea (400 days injured )
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
He definitely could if he's fit. We're bringing in a player potentially worth 10-15m by just reaching his normal level and staying fit. At Burnley under VK he could even improve alot still.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Aug 19, 2023 6:01 pmDon’t think we would be attempting to replace Beyer with this lad from Anderlect, you’d think THB to come back on loan if we needed to replace Beyer
