It’s a little bit early to say we’re bereft of ideas after 1 game against possibly the best team in the world.
I’m suggesting the player occupying that position this year will need to defend first, if Mattsen is good enough to play in front of a LB then he’d be an asset.
He was brilliant playing wing back in a totally dominant team but imo as LB in a less dominant EPL team is a different proposition
Poch was playing him as a left winger in a 4231 pre season

Your right we would need a defender behind him if he’s going to play where he did last season as essentially he wasn’t defending at all most games 👍

He played for Leeds, so why not us?

Be a good shout for one of our PL loans... allows us more time to look for a better long term option and sends a good message out to potential new midfielders.

Lets hope Pep wants to do his mate a favour...

We should be all over Kalvin Phillips and we should be nowhere near Mason Greenwood.

I know you're on the wind up, but please don't suggest putting the club in the gutter.
I can see him going to Sheffiend United or Saudi.

Don’t think we need to worry about Greenwood. Something tells me that Mr Pace and VK wouldn’t be keen at all!

I know I’m the son of a pro footballer!

But no he wasn’t on a wind up he was wound up with all the crap written about his brother on the back of a bit of papertalk ref the West Ham links. He said too much and ended up deleting half what he’d said.

Looking at the way the premier league has dealt with Man City’s owners I wouldn’t be surprised if they sell us out to the highest bidder in the next few years. It would only take a government level block to stop it I reckon. The Saudi’s reckon they are getting in the champions league in two years time along with these hyper inflated wages they are paying.

Looks like they are looking at taking over everything ASAP.

I would have said the same about Vincent Kompany and Sander Berge. If they just want him to play as many minutes as possible this season in the PL then we have as much chance as anyone else and more than some. He will HAVE to play if he wants to get in the England team and can someone like a Villa guarantee that ? I'd would say the chances are slim rather than none (I'm being optimistic for once :D )

We could have had Phillips for £15-20 million before the European season wasn’t it?

It was mentioned by lots of posters all summer long that we needed LB's, upgrades to midfield and a goal scoring striker. Yet with 10 days to go in the window we have signed the square root of nothing for LB's, seemingly desperate for Maatsen, Koulibaly deal fell over and nothing else happening. Upgrades on Cork and Bastien, no the same square root of nothing except Berge who might be a replacement for Brownhill. On strikers we started with Obifemi who subsequently is injured. Foster firing total blanks, aging Jay Rod who sadly isn't now PL material, Barnes who left and Wout Weghorst who went on loan. Yes we bought Amdouni but the others still worry me and now we have sent Twine out on loan. We have brought in some young kids with potential , Redmond and some bit part players to sub Benson and Zaroury during games or when not available. Tella not happening. The Ramsay deal has gone on wat too long and has very strange rumoured conditions attached, Lakonga not happening. A number of other what looked liked being incomings suddenly fall over lately. Whilst the club has brought in a number of players the obvious areas that needed strengthening all summer long have not gone at all well. Critical I know but we need some quality additions in the areas of weakness not more injury prone bit part players who need keeping in cotton wool, not more inexperienced kids with potential and not more wide playing clones of what we already have.

I'm assuming Ramsey's announcement video is an epic 20 minute special and that is what has taken so long. Something along the lines of someone continuously getting him mixed up with the old Aaron Ramsey with hilarious consequences. ;-)

Bloody hell, this is a bit glass half empty isn’t it? I’m sure the club are working as hard as ever to bring in that extra quality needed in certain areas but it is not easy to do so!

Bit unfair on Foster , we’ve only played one match against the world champions and he looked pretty good against them .

We’ve spent around £60m on players but that according to you is the square root of nothing except for Trafford, Beyer, Berge, Amdouni, Redmond etc etc

I’d suggest that firstly you wait till the end of the transfer window and secondly give the team and players we have got a bit more of a chance than the one game we played against the best side in the world.

If you roll back a year we were in a worse position - look at who we had signed by this date last year and look at the players we had lost. We ended up having not too bad a season and a few players few of us had ever heard of turned out ok. If VK spent half as much last year as he has done so far this year just be excited at how good he thinks the new players are !!

As things stand, we are the 9th highest spenders in the Premier League in this window, and the 16th highest in Europe

What about it do you think is horseshite?

Taking a step back I think a lot of our business has been very peculiar all things considered.

Signing to be confirmed but we've allegedly signed a centre half from Anderlecht. Initials H.D.

We do seem to be stockpiling centre backs and wingers for future bumped up sales but I hope we don’t do this at the detriment of the here and now. Barnes was worth another year also to get Foster up to speed with the prem .

I would also agree we probably need another midfielder better or on a par with sander berge .

Being greedy I would love Cornet back but not sure how/where he would play in VK’s system.

Barnes left on a high which was perfect for him, another 12 months and he would of become a bit part player

Bloody Hell mate ,how did you cope when we only signed Dale Stephen’s ,you must be the most pessimistic man pessimiticvill.

Improved in some areas for sure, you’d have hoped we’d have for best part of 100 mill as well!

That was one of them freak games like. It happens

I want to know if VK plans on playing 3 at the back every game this year, well 3 in possession

Our signings so far definitely indicate that.

I'm assuming Ramsey's announcement video is an epic 20 minute special and that is what has taken so long. Something along the lines of someone continuously getting him mixed up with the old Aaron Ramsey with hilarious consequences. ;-)
Spoiler alert…

It’s the first 5000 episodes of Neighbours with the reveal at the end of Ramsey Street

Did people just forget that foster put in a mom performance against the best team on the planet a few weeks ago on his PL debut? The talk around him shows a complete lack of understanding on what he’s about.

Let’s just rush it instead. Bring in the wrong characters to add to the group, less talented players , inflated wages etc just to make the numbers up in certain positions.

I’d rather us get the ones VK wants . If it takes time it takes time.
